Ha, they make you constipated! I'm on them as well and even with the stool softener my doc gave me these pills are not my best friend!
Im anemic and i have to take iron pills everyday iron helps your blood transfer oxygrn through your body and if you don't have enough you may be anemic, wich will go away after you have your baby :)

To eliminate the risk that you will get anemia. As Jessi says, you need extra iron in your blood when pregnant, since the baby needs a lot.

This is going to sound like a smart answer, but i mean it genuinely. They're for getting iron in your system. Thats all. Somwtimes pregnant women need that boost to help them out with that cux baby needs a lot!
