is this true???

Ok so I work as a house keeper, cooking and cleaning, and the family I work for keeps telling me I can't reach above my head, or hold my arms above my head because I will strangle the baby...I'm very stubborn and won't stop cleaning because I don't see how that could be true... Can somebody PLEASE explain whether or not this is true!! I feel like I did more my first pregnancy than this one, and I didn't even work during that one! The drs during my first one never mentioned anything like this

The reason they say that is because when you stretch your arms above your head, your expanding your stomach giving the baby more room to move which in result can cause the baby to move around and end up getting the cord wrapped around its neck. Thats what i was told was the reason for that. How ever like the girls said it's just a myth. If it was a real danger, I'm sure doctors would warn all us mommys.

Oh also, the umbilical cord measures about 20 inches, so its impossible for your own movements (that have no connection to the umbilical cord) to wrap around babys neck if you think about it.
It just depends how the baby is swimming in there, and moves that babyself can wrap it on their own.
ALso, ive read its normal for babies to have their umbilical cord wrap around in the womb, its not tight enough to choke them.
maybe you could just tell her thiss.

Your movements have no effect whatsoever on the umbilical cord
Theres really not much 'medical explanation' to that.

The movement of your arms in no way affects your baby's breathing. Idk why they would even say this to begin with? Lol I don't think you need a medical explanation other than its not physically possible for your arms above your head to strangle the baby.

I know its a myth but can anybody medically explain that this isn't true? They tell me that drs have told her throughout all five pregnancies that it will strangle the baby and she won't take my word that it won't. So I need a medical explanation
