Anyone have luck in turning a posterior baby?

I'm 41+2 and baby has been "back to back" or "sunny side up" for the last week, which means its facing out my tummy with its back to my back instead of its back facing out my tummy, its front towards my spine.     The midwife said that while babies can be born like this, it often means a longer, more painful labour as the widest part of its head is pushed out first.     It can also mean a labour which stops and starts, which mine has been.     I'm 3cm dilated, my waters are bulging and I'm having uncomfortable contractions regularly but they arent painful.      I've been reading up on posterior babies and have been on all fours ten minutes every hour with BD rubbing my back to try encourage baby round to anterior position, but wondered if anyone had had a posterior baby and if they managed to get it turned round, and if not, how was their labour?     I'm getting induced on Tuesday morning if it has not arrived by then x

My son i had a month ago was sunny side up and the doctors did not tell me and left me to push for 4 hours cause a lot of trama on me and baby hopefully you have good dpctors and if you cant turn little bug they will take you for emergeny csection wish i had some advice just make sure you go in ready to tell them 20 minutes in the birth canal and you want a csection its very dangerous for baby.

I'd rather take an assisted birth over a C-Section, but I'm just wishing I could have some progress :/    BD had a feel last night and he thought he could feel my waters cause he had a poke but whatever he touched wasn't me cause I couldn't feel it...was a very strange feeling.    We took a walk up a huge hilll with the dog today and back down and I had a few contractions while we were out but again they stopped after a couple hours :(    I think I'll definitely see my Induction appointment on Tuesday morning x

My midwife isn;t overly concerned at the minute, but did say that could explain why I'm making so little progress cause babys head isn't putting enough pressure on my cervix to push me through into active labour.    I've a list of do's and don'ts to try and encourage it to awing back into normal position.      I'm having regular contractions, which last 30-40 seconds at a time but they're not painful, just mildly uncomfortable, but I have killer backache 24/7 :(     Just having breakfast now then out for another long walk to try encourage my waters to go.   MW said all I need is a couple strong contractions or my water breaking to get me admitted.... x

My daughter was sunny side up but i flipped her around during labor the nurse told me to lay on one side for about half an hour then the flip to the other side for about half an hour it worked but while i was flipped on my right side the second side i cervix fully dialated and i was ready yip push so my epidural ran all to the right side and my whole left side of my body wasn't numb anymore and boy did delivery hurt like all heck bcuz of it give it a shot now it might just work for you too! Good luck with labor and delivery i hope everything goes smoothly for you!!

Same my boy was posteria too. My dr and mid wife didn't show much concern. I had a very quick labour and birth. With no time for drugs or much if anything else! Good luck

Both my babies were "sunny side up" and I had no problems delivering, I was 42+5 with my first and he was a hefty 8lbs9oz but I only pushed for 6 minutes with no tearing. Neither of them had the pointy cone head thing going on, since the front portion will come out first. My only warning is to expect to feel most of your labor pain in your back.

Oh thats not so good :/   poor you, you must have been in so much pain.   I'm in the UK so its whatever Midwife gets assigned me when I (eventually) go into labour, and a Dr will only assess if necessary....I'm getting induced on Tuesday morning if it's not arrived by then as I'm so overdue and making so little progress :(      as long as baby is healthy i'll do whatever is necessary to keep it happy, i don't want baby to go into distress :/     x

Lol yes unfortunately baby is comfortable, but part of why they think that its taking so long is because its posterior, although the head is fully engaged, there's not enough pressure in my cervix to advance the labour as it should be, and burst the waters.   I'm 3cm and have had 3 sweeps, and my waters are bulging out my cervix.   I'm technically through the early labour phase as I'm already 3cm dilated, but my body is struggling to progress any further with labour because of babies position.   MW had said the same re being on all 4s often, I'm not allowed to lie on my back and I'm not allowed to sit back with my feet up, or have my knees above my hips.    So TV watching is on the birthing ball or backwards on a dining chair, leaning forward, the car seat has to be upright with my legs stretched in front of me to keep my knees low, sleeping has to be on my tummy, supported by lots of pillows and cushions so bump doesnt get squashed :/ x
