36 weeks and spotting?

Had a little bleeding today nothing horrible just a little more than spotting and brown with kinda like tissue in it (sorry if tmi). Anyways doctor wants to do an ultrasound next week just to make sure everything is okay. My baby is kicking and seems to be up to her usual tricks and her heartbeat is good (I just checked it was at about 153)... so my question is... is this anything to be concerned about. I honestly think that maybe it is a little of my mucus plug (although I'm not sure what it is supposed to look like)... any thoughts and/or suggestions would be great! :)

You know Abigail is common... but not so common that you have a lot of them in a class room. Its like one of the names that was popular and then got less popular but never went out of style. Aspen just reminds we of snow covered trees... just refreshing, peaceful and graceful and I guess its what I want my daughter to be.

That is such a beautiful name! You definitely won't have ten Aspens in the classroom when she gets into school. I'm afraid I chose Elaina for my firstborn's name, thinking it was this exotic, uncommon name. Well, I soon found out that where I live everyone knows someone named Elaina with one spelling or another. I even have other little kids come and tell me, "Oh, there's three Elainas in my class!"

My next is named Abigail and I named her knowing it was common, but I love the meaning. It means "A father's joy" and she is! Elaina hated her daddy and other men. But Abby loves her daddy and is his SPITTING image!

Does Aspen mean something?

Could be the show (as everyone has suggested)....With my 4th pregnancy, I was like 33 or 34 weeks and I had a dream that I was calling my mom to tell her that I was in labor.  That dream woke me up at like 4:30 in the morning.  I got up to go to the bathroom (as pregnant women often do) and when I wiped, there was blood.  I freaked out because I had never had blood during pregnancy before; not even implantation bleeding.  So they told me to go to the hospital for observation.  I went.  I was fine.  She was fine.  I wasn't in labor but the nurse told me that sex during pregnancy can cause the bleeding.  Sure enough we had about 12 hours previously.  It was just strange because that had never happened to me before and not since.  Congrats on the little one!!  Have a happy and healthy delivery!!

Also if you have been having contractions it is common to see see a little blood, like a light pinkish color so maybe she will be here by Christmas.  Congrats!

My bloody show (if you will) was king of like a tissue full of snot with blood mixed in.  Sorry if that is graphic, but sounded like you wanted to know!

It is my first and her name is Aspen Marie... or it will be. Hopefully on my next ultrasound she'll still be a girl otherwise at this point I am screwed.

Ugh... I can't decide if I want her to come sooner or later. I just don't want a holiday baby!!! I'll be happy with whatever day she comes though as long as she is healthy. Shoot she could come out a monkey for all I care as long as she is healthy! :)

Sounds like it could be the mucous plug. Or what some women call bloody show. Means baby is on her way soon!

P.S. Soon to baby is not soon enough for us! ;-0
