Slightly stupid BC question haha

I started taking BC pills at my 6 week checkup, I started taking them this past sunday, and I've taken them between 9-12PM, is it okay to have that much of a time gap?? My doctor told me the EXACT same time everyday, but with a baby, and moving, it's next to impossible! I take one every single day, but just not the EXACT time, just within 3 hours of each other - will this change the effectiveness at all? Thanks in advance!

P.S I'm also using condoms until I've been on it for a month, so I'm more concerned this will create a problem when/if we decide to not use a condom as well.

I'm not on the mini it's ortho tricyclen, and I'm getting better at taking it around the same time everyday, I'm just NOT ready for another baby anytime soon so I don't want any slip ups!

Do you get up and brush your teeth around the same time every day? If so, just put your BC next to your toothbrush and take at after (or before) you brush.

If you are on the normal BC pill (not mini) I dont think the time matters quite as much. I am on the mini and it says to use back up for 48 hours if you go longer than 3 hours but thats because it is a lower dose.

Is it the mini-pill?  My doc told me the same thing, but i have read that within a 3 hour window is fine, so you should be good!
(Unfortunately for me, i just remembered to take today's pill, along w yesterday's and the day before's...  I am so bad at this!!  Can't wait to go back on the patch.)

I do have my cell phone set to remind me but when I'm in the middle of giving Dameon a bath or something I completely forget or just put it off for a few hours, I'll have to ask my doctor. She didn't really stress the exact time but she said the same time, ugh what a pain BC is!

Ummm, good question! I think if your doctor said exact time, you should do the exact time or within 30 minutes of that time. Set your watch or cell phone to remind you.
