Pregnency

My wife, Ruma, 28years is pregnant of 2 months. She is resistant to see a doctor.  She does not like the way doctor check a pregnant woman. She is not interested in baby only to avoid doctors during pregnancy! She threatens to suicide if repeatedly asked to see a doctor, even a lady doctor.
It is learnt that she accompanied her relative during pregnancy to see gynecologist during her teen ages. Doctor checked the woman in front of my wife. Since then she has got such psychological problem. She even feels vomiting tendency to see a gynecologist.
She is loosing weight very fast and remains frustrated always. Please advice.

If she is reluctant to see a doctor, is it possible to get a midwife in your area?

If she goes to the doctor, he can explain what he wants to do to her or check. That way she can choose what she wants to happen and say no to anything she is uncomfortable with...

tell her things are diffrent now ! they dont tend to do internals anymore .show her this thread and let her know  she needs to get the baby checked and is able to refuse anything she wants to at the appt with the doc , i refused my blood tests ! they cant make you do anything you dont want too ! what exactly is she scared of ?

How wonderful of you to be concerned enough to seek out a community for help...this is a great community of women who I am sure will be able to give you some ideas...Perhaps you could convince her to go so long as she was only given the ultrasound on top of her belly...and that way you could see something and maybe get a heartbeat...I am not sure how they do things in India so I am not sure what your options are.  Another idea is that you could show her what the baby looks like in her womb by going to a site like baby center . com  No spaces in between the words though...Maybe if she sees what is going on with the baby she'd be more inclined to want to check on it?  Hope this helps!  Do you have any other women whom she can talk to about this?  Maybe you could encourage her to post a message about her concerns regarding the gyn. visit on here and we could help her out?  Good luck!
