mother-in-laws

I don't understand why most mother in laws feel they have the right to be in the room during labor. It isn't a right its a privliage and unless your extremely comfortable with it you don't have to do anything you don't want to do

Yea I van relate on that too. My boyfriends dad drives me insane as well. Every time he sees me he gets me alone and tells me that I need to get married. Its so annoying because he knows that me and my boyfriend have been having problems since before I was pregnant and that I moved back home with my family before I even knew I was pregnant. I just want to look at him and say excuse me, didn't you cheat on your wife with a minor so why do you have any room to tell me that I need to get married when you weren't even committed to yours.

I'm so blessed I don't have this issue with my mother in law or my boyfriends sisters. it's more his dad then anything, which is weird because the fathers usually aren't like that but his is & I can't stand his dad. I use to be able to tolerate him but since I got pregnant just the site of him pisses me off

Yea I was like are you psychotic or something. When I went to my appointment at about 3 months along she got mad because my mom went with me.she texted me and was like I thought you was letting me come to your appointments. And then she got mad because my mom and aunt are throwing my baby shower and didn't even try to contact me for like a month. Which i was completely fine with.lol. She just pushes me to far.and to top ot all off one of her other brothers had a baby a couple of years ago and she tried to take her away from her brothers girlfriend. She seriously tried to get custody for no reason.I could understand if the mother was unfit but she wasn't. She was a good mom. I swear I dont know what I got myself mixed up in with his crazy family.

Mother in laws or people in general just do what you allow. You don't have to be disrespectful to let a person know you're stance on whatever the issue is. My mother in law is invasive but once I stand my ground on an issue she backs down. My husband also had to learn that I'm the woman of our household & family not her. With time it gets much better if you put your foot down now & don't get intimidated. Haha it's funny tho thinking back on her "interference" early on

I don't have this problem, but my mother had to deal with it when she was in labor with my older brother. My grandmother threw a fit about not being in there, and then after my mother had to have an emergency c section and she and my brothers lives were on the line, she didn't give a $ hit about my mother. I'm actually more concerned about her trying to come up here and be at the hospital in general (its on a military base, so I doubt it) but I don't want her near me at all. So I kinda understand. And she is also a big formula fan, she gave my mother h3ll about breastfeeding my brother and I. If you don't want her there, tell your doc and nurses, they will keep her out. Good luck.

I know the feeling except its my boyfriends sister. I finally just quit talking to her and haven't told her anything else about my pregnancy. I told my boyfriend I dare her to show up at the hospital because if she does I will tell the doctors to kick her out. She never talked to me before I got pregnant and when she did she was always insulting me and as soon as I got pregnant she decided she was going to be my best friend.  She got mad because I wouldn't let her come to my doctors appointments.and she wants to go in the delivery room and she thinks she is keeping my baby on the weekends. I swear is pissed me off so bad.
