My drs said i could take colace stool softener OR milk of magnesia. I would suggest the milk of mag i took it with a lot of water like youre supposed to i actually had to a few days ago and it had started working by that night (slightly) and by the next day i was finally going no problem. Works like a charm and doesn't give any stomach cramps....just don't make any plans that will keep you away from a bathroom for a long time not that you will get diarrhea but you will be going quite a bit. Also consider adding metamucil (sp?) Daily for some extra fiber because you don't realize how much you take pooping for granted till you can't! Lol

If you go five days you need to go to the doctors because you can become septic.
