Should I stay positive

On December 12, 2011 I started my period so I thought. A week went by and I should have stopped but continued by the 27th of December I finally called my ob gyn and the nurse said if the color was brown it was old blood that did not shed right so it was normal, but if it was bright red then it could be a problem. A few days later I was working and went pee and blood dripped out so I got really scared went to my ob the very next day. They examined my cervix she said it looked fine. Also drew some blood and the next day I found out I was pregnant. I was put on bed rest until the new year was over. That Tuesday January 3rd, 2012 I went to get more blood drawn to see where my levels were at and she said they had dropped. She told me that I am more than likely to have a miscarriage but I have had no pain what so ever and I took a pregnancy test today January 5th, 2012 and said positive. I am still bleeding a little but I am not having to change my pad ever hour. I am staying positive through it all but its hard.

So here is my question: Is it possible that I could still be pregnant and my levels could go back up? I am young and I don't go back to get my levels checked until next tuesday and If someone has been through this and has some insight can you please help me out.

Thank you.

I am a first time mom and currently pregnant. The month before I got a professional test I had a very odd event like yours. I was suppose to start my period on sept 24 but didn't get it...then on the 28th I had very very light spotting....then I started to bleed like a very bad(worst period) I have ever experienced. Then a few days later I started having prenancy symptoms. Then I officially missed oct. period and I found out that I was pregnant. I hae questioned that even many times thinking... did I miscarry and then get pregnant again or have I been pregnant since sept. I know how you feel...just take it day by day and keep getting checked up.....good luck!!

In some cases levels can rise, but when you have bleeding and dropping levels it's usually a clear sign of miscarriage. With a miscarriage you often don't change a pad more than an hour, and if you did you would need to be looked at. I had a very early miscarriage this past year, and bled almost exactly like a period just a little longer. There wasn't much pain, and if I didn't know any better I would have thought it was my cycle finally starting back up. For now, I would hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Did they say what your levels were at both times?
