The good thing though, is that the more of these you have before the real labour starts, the more ready your body will be. (and the shorter the labour)
They 'ripen' your body up, and help get you dilated and ready to go. (making for the shorter labour)

Im am soooo ready to have him...Yes, i know what you mean with the "contractions" they are painful, and they arent even the real deal yet!
You can infact have those true labor contractions for quite a while. I had them for 2 weeks straight before I suddenly went into labor with my youngest son. They hurt like hell and were true contractions but I wasn't dialating. It was at the end of those 2 weeks that I laid down after taking a shower and they picked up and got worse. I made it to the hospital 30 min later and was dialated to a 7, 30 min later I had my son in my arms.
