Sorry if i offended anyone!!!!

I posted a Vent on this last week regarding the man and woman who had put their poll on a website whether to keep their unborn child or not.  It seems the MHmoderator or whatever has taken this off of this site as it abortion is not related to this site.

All i had done was what a lot of other women had done, was sharing my opinions on something i had read in the news.  It seems since i first joined over 3 years ago a lot of women take offence to really minor things on these sites.  I don't see what problem this caused, i guess this means i shouldn't be part of the 18-34 pregnancy forum as i am not pregnant i should only post in the fertility forum as i need IVF and i should also post in the TTC group since i'm not yet pregnant.  If people on the sites find any comments or vent's inappropriate don't answer or don't read.  I am extremely upset over this as i thought these sites were to help people ttc, pregnant, suffering miscarriages, deciding to abort or have a child etc.

i know a lot of nice people on this site but i am now beginning to wonder whether i should delete my profile or not, i've had enough!!!!!

She's a good person to talk to and you should hopefully get an explanation...I'm awfully sorry you feel pushed away Gillian I know that I personally value you here and would be heartbroken if you left. The dynamic of the board has changed as the members changed, but once the newer people settle in I think that the moderators won't have to get involved so much and things won't be so stirred up. You also have to remember that the vent you posted about abortion happened in a really volatile time for the forum...there was all that stuff happening around abortion posts and they probably just didn't want people coming on here thinking that MH is anti-choice or anything, because they have to remain neutral...you know what I mean? I think it was bad timing and any other time it would've gone unnoticed...but that's just a guess. you can also try contacting Emily she's very active on this board as far as the moderators go.

I hope you choose to stay :( you were one of my first friends on here!

By the way if you honestly feel like this was unfair, I would recommend contacting Cheryl (the manager) or one of the moderators..I know I say this a lot, but they really will listen to you and try to explain why they did what they did, and if they were mistaken about your intentions very often they'll suggest a way to repost without violating rules or stepping on toes...our moderators are some wonderful people, so give them a try if you want to speak about something you think is unfair!

I think you should stay Gillian. I've always known you to be a sweetheart and you have EVERY right to post here. I think that you are mistaking the problem though..it's not MH that's causing the issues. their rules haven't changed at all, you know? it's just that people who are on the site now are different than people who used to be on the site..even in the year that I've been here I've noticed it. however, this isn't a BAD thing, it just means that sometimes people who are new to the site don't know the rules and violate them, and/or take things too personally...but you know that everyone doesn't know the "MH groove" when the first join...but they'll get it :).

hopefully soon the board will settle down and everyone will feel like it's the old supportive, wonderful, peaceful place it's always been. we just have to remember to be nice and to not respond if we can't be...please stay, gillian, you bring SO much to this board!

I've only known you as a good person, and haven't noticed you ever offending anyone.

Things certainly have changed in the two years I've been here. I'm just trying to go with it and take it as it comes. I personally think it has a lot to do with posts getting heated a LOT more than they used to. When I first joined, it wasn't too often moderators or CLs had to step in and put up reminders or delete posts and all that. It does go back and forth between stretches of good posts and heated ones, but there's been more heated posts in the last few months.

I really hope you don't leave. You're one of my first friends on this site, and I'd hate to not be able to see how things are going for you, we don't chat very often BUT it's still good to see updates. If you do decide to leave, do you have a Facebook?

i am a little, was supposed to be getting engaged last Saturday and i ended up having a problem with my ring, so waiting to find out if i'll deffo get it.  i'm stressed out listening to phones ringing in the office all day with noone answering them and then being told by an MH that a VENT post not aimed at anyone on this site is classed offensive.  I'm totally P*****D today, if people don't like the question or post DON'T ANSWER!!!!!

don't let people push you out. i got reported as well. but it is okay for people to sugar coat stuff or give wrong info but the min truth is spoken. you get reported. just say. that's prob why this site is like this because people like you that are extremely HELPFUL AND SPEAK THE TRUTH LEAVE. don't leave just because of this. we need people like you here. i hope you'r just having a hard day. x

I'm sorry. :( I know you didn't personally offend me at all as well. I think an argument was started and that was why it was deleted. It's hard to say. I do hope to still see you around though. :) You give good advice to many people on this forum and are a big help.

Thanks very much guys but i don't think i'll be posting much on this site anymore, things have changed since i first joined over 3 years ago and i'm not liking it anymore as i feel you can't express your thoughts and feelings on ANY sort of subject without being criticised that your on the wrong forum and i don't just mean the abortion post from last week.  If there is something i can help someone with then i'll do my best, otherwise i think i'll take my comments and questions somewhere else.

I don't know that you offended anyone you were simplying saying what's up. I think that Medhelp just has to be careful about being PC. If you want you can always post on your journals and your friends can read and reply too. But I know personally I had no problem with what you said.
