*any earlier than 39 weeks that is...
here(saskatchewan Canada) its standard to induce at 10 days over... some moms can get their Dr to induce at 39 weeks but i dont think a Dr is allowed to go any earlier unless its medically needed...
Yep, skip the castor oil..it can cause the baby to pass a stool in the womb too early and the baby can aspirate this and cause a whole mess of trouble.
Usually they'll induce you once you pass 40 weeks, so I'd just talk to my doctor. Since this isn't your first pregnancy I'm sure you know that waiting until baby is ready is best, BUT past 40wks it's generally safe to induce :-).
Castor oil had been proven in recent years NOT to be safe. Just FYI.
Castor oil def works wonders. Its safe. Walking alot! Sex! Some other things too. I know there's some fruit that is known to start labor. Castor oil and you'll be in labor tonight. ;)
Do not do castor oil. It can be harmful to the baby. That is an absolutely "no no" to induce labor. Try anything else. Eating fresh pineapple, drink raspberry leaf tea, spicy food, walking, sex, bounce on a yoga ball, massage or pedicure, etc. Now, having said all that, nothing will start labor unless your body is ready.
It depends on your doctor when they'll induce you. My midwife waits till 42 weeks before inducing. Some induce within days of passing 40 weeks. Your doctor should have scheduled some non-stress tests to make sure baby is still healthy.
And if Ur brave enough and want to clean out Ur bowels, castor oil works amazing. It will literally give u contractions, and Ur bowels too... So u won't poop on the table. They usually make u wait two weeks before inducing here. So I went to the pharmacist and he even recommended castor oil. Even says on the bottle that it will bring on labour in pregnant women. Haha. But it will clean u out. Baby and all. Lol
I heard walking brings on labour and sex lol
