O/T - update: Surgery wednesday :(

Well the doctor was right. His hunch was kidney stones and they did the CAT scan and yep; two giant stones in my right ureter tube stuck halfway down. 5.5mm and 7.1mm....too big to pass without surgical intervention. Sigh. Luckily they can't do it until next wednesday? (whaaat you say? that's LUCKY? why yes! I'm glad you asked...) I get to go to my baby girl's birthday party tomorrow so I'm very happy about that, all pain aside :). But on tuesday I'll go in for a pre-op and then wednesday they'll put me under and hopefully remove both stones....recovery should be immediate...the only potential complications are if they can't get the stones out manually and/or if they have to insert a stent (tube running from bladder to kidney) to drain the swollen kidney....hoping that doesn't happen. I've had a stent before and it was AGONIZING.

wish me luck ladies...I could sure use some more of that prayer magic :). you guys have all been amazingly supportive and I am so grateful. I'm probably gonna need it for the next few days as I try to make it at home with this horrid pain. I have meds but they're only marginally effective so I've just gotta grin and bear it.

OH no!!!  I'm so sorry you're going through all this crap!  I hope all goes well with Kahlan's bday and that you're surgery goes well and recovery is quick.  With two little ones it's already hard enough, but to be down and out from something like this just makes it so much worse.  Hopefully family is going to be helping you guys out as much as necessary.  Please PM your number again.  I can't find the message with it and I'd like to be able to text you and see how things are going.

Don't worry Ivy...think of it as a nice restful sleep. At the very least you can use your surgery as an excuse (not that you'll need one) to sit on your rear and have hubby do EVERYTHING for you! :) It'll be ok, I was scared sh!tless right before my c-section, at least you'll be knocked out so you don't start feeling pain while they're doing it like I did...THAT is NOT fun. But you'll be ok. It is scary, but it'll all be A-OKAY!

thanks girls you are all so helpful.....

LOL@Amanda yeah I know right? Too bad I had a legitimate reason to be there. maybe next time I can waste my time at 3AM for kicks.

I seriously doubt I'm gonna hop off the surgery table shaking my booty....chances are they're going to have to intubate me and that makes your throat HUUUURT oh man I hate it. and coming out of anesthesia makes you gag and cough like nobody's business.

ugh I get the shakes just thinking about it. i'm a bit of a control freak and the concept of being medically unconscious to the point where I cannot rouse myself freaks the *bleep* outta me.

Ashelen (lol)- you are the bravest most strongest most beautifulest mommy ever and My Kahlan monster (you can borrow her) is going to have the best 2nd Birthday any two year old Princess has ever....EVER...had :)

Pain isnt fun and neither is surgery BUT ...hate to say it...look on the bright side...*I* was right...told ya there was something wrong with you *neener neener*!!!

I know i know, it is rather disappointing that the Doctors dont all think your a lying drug addict...maybe next time. :p

Im only teasing, on a more serious note...im am SO very happy that you are OKAY and that you're going to be able to enjoy (to the best of your ability) your beautiful, incredible daughter's birthday. She's lucky to have you...she really is. Then come wednesday..Peace out kidney stones!!! There will be no stent, you'll see ...your gonna hop off that hospital bed shaking your booty! Hang in there sista, the birthday party will be great...surgery will be quick painless and you'll be back to your regular (regular for u is extraordinary) self.

WTH? How did I miss this? I've been watching for updates, saw your status...but missed this.

Anyways, you know I'm sending my prayers your way! I hope they get them out and you don't need the stent...doesn't sound fun at all.

I don't know what else to say right now, I'd be repeating what I've already said in the note and on FB, lol.

OH~~as always, you know how to find me if you need someone to talk to.
