Wee bit too early but most things take a wee while.. you will be full term in a week so you don't have to hold off that long.. but i wouldnt take castor oil its suposed to be bad and can make your bubba have first b/m before birth.. plus it can make you feel pretty sick which im sure u dont want... get some raspberry leaf tea capsules they take a short while to accumulate in your system but i started taking them at 37w and my braxton hicks have been a lot stronger plus lost quite a bit of my mucus plug today =] ! and walk walk walk!! lol.. good luck =] congrats!

The only reason castor oil would induce labor is it can cause you to have lots of bowel movements, which can cause dehydration. Dehydration can make you go in labor. However, that is NOT a good way to induce labor. It's very bad for you AND baby.

Also as the poster above said, castor oil can make the baby have a bowel movement in the womb. If the baby breathes in the bowel movement it can cause serious problems or death to the infant.

So, no, I would not recommend castor oil to induce labor.

Bad idea, especially so early. Hang in there, you're almost there.

Your too early. Plus its not proven that it actually works. One bad thing about it is it can make the baby pass its bowels and when that happens the baby could eat it which can cause many problem

As previous posters have said, it's a very bad idea because it can cause your baby to ingest it's bowel movement, and the reason it can potentially (not guarantee) cause labor is through excessive diarrhea and contraction caused by this, also dehydration.

Furthermore, 36w3d is still too early. You do not know if your baby's lungs are developed yet, and there is absolutely no reason to put your baby at increased risk unless it's medically necessary to have baby immediately. I do not recommend doing something potentially dangerous, especially since there is still no guarantee that it would even work.

I know you may be uncomfortable and extremely excited to meet baby, but please wait :)
