Getting Pregnant

I am 27 and I have been married for 5 years now. I want to get pregnant and my husband and I have really only been trying for a couple of months and I read somewhere that it can take a very long time and the timing of conception has to be perfectly in line with ovulation ect... I am not sure, I know I am over thinking this and I know that stress can delay pregnancy as well. Does anybody have advice? Please help :)

My bf and I decided to try for a baby but we gave it a "it'll happen eventually" approach.  just took the condoms out of the equation and hoped eventually it'd work.  Two weeks later (and a two year old off to stay with family) we went out, drank, just had fun, kinda drank to much (lol), got home and felt super romantic, three weeks after that I popped a BFP!!! I was ungodly shocked it happened so quick lol! We both thought it'd take around six months min.

This may sound crazy but I tried dressing up for him I had a sexy Dorothy costume from Halloween did a sexy dance handcuffs just anything u know he is into teasing is a good way to make it better it just heightens the arousal ;-) some men like woman in control try that maybe a tease all day long so when your finally home and alone he can't wait lol like Im not sure if I can be pregnant the stress of trying to get pregnant can make your period late just relax and kno if it can happen for me it can happen for anyone

Stress can be the best birth control there is. Have fun making your baby, don't let sex become a chore because then it gets boring and annoying. Enjoy eachother. I have four babies and with my last pregnancy it took us almost 6 months of trying (which felt like forever since the previous three were conceived so quickly). My mother in law told me to stop trying at least mentally and it will happen. Sure enough about a month and half later I was pregnant. A healthy woman on has about a 25% to a 30% chance of concieveing each month. Not that great. So just relax and things will happen the way they are suppose to. Best of luck to you and relax!

We are probably having sex at least 2 times a week and my last period was the 6th of last month & I havent had any spotting yet or anything. I know I am reaching and being hopeful, but anybody think I might be pregnant? lol And any ideas on how I can make sex less of a task for him, I am so anxious about getting pregnant, that I think sometimes I am a bit much for him. We are getting along great, but I want him to want to do it more too lol. thanks!

Completely normal.  I was that way with both pregnancies.  And once you get pregnant then you will have new worries.  Then once you have the baby then more worries.  They never stop but just try to relax.  It's so worth it!!!  Good luck.

It took us 2years to conceive. It was so frustrating w/ all the opk's & do's & dont's. Finally frustrated we made an appt w/ a fertility specialist & he told us to stop all the routine & have sex whenever @ anytime using any position w/out charting body temp. Believe it or not that month we were carefree & conceived that cycle. It will happen for you too. Sending baby dust your way.

Yes its totally normal to be nervous I still get nervous about getting pregnant and I am pregnant!!! Hahaha! Its so much fun tho knowing there is a little human inside of u just growing away lol like the other ladies said just enjoy it have fun don't think that your only having sex for a baby cuz that makes it harder and what they say about a woman being on top is a lie lol u can still get pregnant that way lol we ended up having drunken sex ( the best in my opinion) and that's when I ended up conceiving plus sumthin about alcohol makes estrogen levels higher or so I read :-P

I'll tell you what the Fertility Dr told me.   He said best results are when you bed every other day or whenever the mood strikes you from CD 12-21.  we did from the CD9-23 just to be on the safe side but that is what he actually wrote on a script for my husband.   I think he is the favourite for all men that go into that office... here is a script for sex.  fantastic!

Have you been doing anything like tracking your cycles, temping, or doing ovulation predictor kits (OPK's)?  If not I would suggest at least doing one of them.  If you track your cycles you can find calendars that can "predict" when ovulation may occur.  For myself I didn't really find them helpful as they had my ovulation days completely messed up.  You can also temp. which you get a basal body thermometer and take your temperature every morning before you get up or do anything.  I never did this but I will tell you what I know.  When you are about to ovulate your temp. drops and then once ovulation has occured you will have a spike in your temperature.  Then during implantation your temp will fall again but then rise back up and stay that way.  If you temp dips when AF is due then that most likely means she will be there soon.  Like I said though I don't know much about this but I'm sure there are other women here that can help you with that.  You can monitor your cervical mucus too.  Right around ovulation you will get cervical mucus that looks similar to egg whites.  This is what sperm do the best in and can live for a few days in this environment.  I personally did OPK's.  I loved them and got pregnant, with both pregnancies, using this method.  Start by baby dancing every other night once your period stops.  You start using OPK's around cycle day 9 (and cycles start from the first day of your heavy flow).  It's best to test between 2pm-5pm because that's when your levels are the highest but around O I tested 3 times a day.  Amazon has some cheap OPK's that work great.  When you get you positive OPK baby dance at least 3 nights in a row.  Skip a night and then baby dance at least one more time.  When you get your positive OPK it means ovulation should occur within the next 24-48 hours.  I hope this helps some.  Good luck.

If u have an Android phone I used an app called period and ovulation tracker it needs about 3+ months of accurate data to go off of but me and my fiancée tried for over a year and this finally helped us :-) I also read to only have sex everyother day so sperm can grow properly in him and after we had sex I would just lay there and go to sleep so that the swimmers had enough time to swim to the place they needed to be lol I was told since I was 12 I'd never have children due to cysts and extremely small girlie parts but here I am happy and healthy at 11 weeks :-)
