Oh, but the Phenergan makes you really sleepy so the Zofran may be a better option, if you decide on prescription meds.

Phenergan and Zofran are also safe prescriptions to take for Hypermesis.  I didn't read all the responses, so I am sorry if that has been mentioned already.

I get so sick that I have to be hospitalized, so I know where you are coming from and it is HORRIBLE!!!

Also, try freezing some Gatorade or something similar, in ice trays.  You can munch on this and it will help keep you hydrated.

As far as food....nothing really helped me, but I would eat crackers as best as I could.  Small frequent meals are the best and I thought the same thing as you...I just didn't want to eat, but if you let your stomach get totally empty, it's even worse!  I threw up non-stop if my stomach was totally empty.  That's why it is said to be the worst in the mornings, thus getting the name "Morning Sickness."  But anyone with true Hypermesis knows it is far worse than your typical "Morning Sickness."

Try hard candies, such as Jolly Ranchers.  Those do tend to help some...even if only while in your mouth.  Any reprieve is appreciated.  Ginger teas are good and try some peppermint ice cream.  They sell it now for the holidays and it might help.  It's also a good source of calcium for both you and your baby.

For me, time is all that really helped me.  I just have to get to 16 or 17 weeks or so, before I feel any better.  I am miserable until then, but some of these suggestions help other and might help you as well.

Oh, and if you are continuing to take your vitamins through this period, try taking them at night before bed.  Taking them in the morning WILL make you feel worse.  I actually can't take mine for a while, but taking them at night is much better than in the morning.

I always feel so bad for pregnant women going through this.  I have been through it 7 times and it is HORRIBLE!!!  The most natural/normal thing in the world to do is eat and it is terrible not to be able to do it!

I hope you feel better soon.

I had extreme sickness in the first part of my pregnancy (I am now 25 weeks) but I found constantly sucking on a peppermint really helped my sickness more than anything! Hope this helps!

Try letting a saltine or two dissolve in your mouth before you get out of bed. This helps many of my patients :) Also, Zofran is what we recommend as far as medication goes. Hope you feel better!

I would chose zofran over phenergan.  Personally, pherergan makes me VERY sleepy to the point where I cannot function.  Zofran works so well that I usually only took 1/2 a pill.

anything with ginger in it, ginger tea, ginger beer, even gingernut biscuits will do the trick usually, also grated apple can work wonders as well

Emetrol is fine while pregnant, just don't take more than the recommended dose. If you're unsure still, speak to your doctor. I know mine told me I could use it, but when I was pregnant it hardly would get down my throat before I would vomit it back up.

Ha ha brushing my teeth is not easy either. I've tried different toothpastes and everything. The worst part is my mouth is constantly watering like before you throw up. All day long. They said to brush your teeth but um... Yea that dosent work.

I was that way with my pregnancy... Its crazy!  Just the thought of boiling water to put pasta in was enough that i couldnt do it!! I made lots of peanut butter and jam sandwiches(cause it doesnt take much thought to make)... It might take half a day to eat half of it but it was something anyway..  I did drink lots of water... I ended up getting a prescription from the dr to help me function.... I took the min dose that i personally could... Next time i want to try sea bands...They are accupuncture wrist bands that you wear... I used them when i was younger for car sickness and so i could go in indoor pools with out getting sick... And they worked then so i really am hoping next time they will be effective:) to me its worth trying.... I didnt try sucking on canfies or anything thay you have to eat as like you daid the thought is enough to make it impossible... There is no way i could eat crackers first thing in the AM.... Never would or could have done it...

How is brushing your teeth going?? Gawd that wad the worst!!

Yup. I lived on it for 8 months after I gave birth. For me it was HORRIBLE to take, but I hate liquids and it's super sweet. If its severe enough or you don't function well, you can also talk to your doctor about anti-nausea medicines.

Can you handle fluids? Warm coke or sprite can help settle your stomach, but food can definitely make it better as well. Lemon with water can also help, as well as hard candies and ginger. Trust me, I know how hard it is to eat when you feel sick. Even nibbling on crackers or toast can make a world of difference.
