I agree with ktowne, when you menstruate you shed the uterus lining and egg. And since she is pregnant she can't do that, its just pregnancy related bleeding. That is what my doctor told me cause I had asked about it.

It may not be a period as such. Could be that you have a low lying placenta or possibly could be irritation to the cervix because of the increase in blood flow. Any bleeding should really be checked out by a professional, I bled yesterday and I'm 19 weeks into my pregnancy. It isn't always serious but you will never be wasting anyone's time by getting examined. Hope all is okay :)

It's not a period, you can ask any OB/GYN and they will tell you the same thing, if it's around the time your period would occur it's pure coincidence. I didn't know I was pregnant is just a show, I've watched it many times, and many times. "While you can't have a period during a pregnancy, you can have bleeding related to the pregnancy that may occur around the time your menstrual cycle is due." - that is taken from a dialog of i didn't know I was pregnant online.

Ktowne- women have periods when they are pregnant all the time. Some women have periods all throughout their pregnancy so they don't find out until they are months along and starting to show. Have you ever seen "I didn't know I was pregnant"? You should watch it its interesting and you will learn a lot.

Congrats on baby. Sorry I can't help since I havent had this but I hope all is well

You can't have a period while pregnant, a period is the uterus lining shedding to get rid of an unfertilized egg, if you're pregnant, that means your egg has fertilized and is inside the lining of your uterus, so if your uterus lining sheds, that means you're miscarrying. So what you're having is pregnancy related bleeding, and since you bled during your previous pregnancy, this might just be what your body does pregnant, I would still go to your doctor and request some blood work or an U/S.

I had heavy red clotty bleeding with no cramping at 6 weeks, had an ultrasound the next day and saw bubs heart fluttering away. Now I'm 15 weeks and 5 days. You could still be pregnant. Maybe you should go to the doctors and request a scan or blood tests to monitor your HCG levels?
