i was told you couldnt see a heart beat until 7 weeks so you should wait until then. also if you are going to miscarry prior to 12 weeks there is nothing that can be done. doctor or no doctor you will get the same results.
My OBGYN usually always does an u/s at 6wks, 12wks and 20wks. I had a miscarriage at 17wks in September 2006. I am now 6w4d pregnant with twins and I am under the care of a reproductive endocrinologist so I had a sono at 6wks and will have another at 8wks. Then they will release me to my OBGYN, which will do another sono at 12wks.
I do belong to a miscarriage board for a year now and have found through other members that docs usually monitor those with repeated miscarriages closely.
They wont consider you high risk unless you have 3 miscarriages in a row. But when I had my miscarriage and then got pregnant again to make me feel better my doctor let me get an early ultrasound to make sure everything was progressing as it should. Best of luck I wish you the best! :)
It is import for you to see the doctor wright a way they can but you on high risk pregnantcy where they can carefully look after you and make sure every thing is okay
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
After my first miscarriage, when I got pregnant again, I had an U/S done at 5 weeks 4 days. Then another one the week after that. Not sure what the norm is though...
Have you contacted your doctor yet? I would ask him what he thinks. Good luck!
