membrane sweep

I'm 34wks5days , no rush in getting baby out but was just wondering when is the earliest you can get a membrane sweep? I'm a FTM and was also wondering if it worked for any of you? Also if it worked,  how long after the sweep did you go into labor?

I read that about group b strep too. They say if ur baby isn't ready to come out when they do the sweep then he wont. but I'm hoping since i'm passed my due date it will work.

I looked it up on the internet because I got my membrane sweep today. It said you don't get an infection from having a sweep but u can if u get ur membrane stripped. I read that most place offer it at the 40 week appointment for ftms. I'm hoping it works cause I ready to have my lil man here. My friend told me today that she a her membrane sweep and her water broke the next morning.
