prenatal vitamins

I always think about did people back in the 70s and further back have Prenatal vitamins lol?

I always mention this, but think about other countries and back in the 1800s.. No prenatal care, doctors, hospitals. Everything was done naturally. I mean sure way back when you had a higher risk of dying while giving birth BUTTT for the most part they did it all on their own. So random hahaha.

Lol I think they consumed healthy diet. There werent any competitions in the food and beverage industry  in the past unlike at present and there werent much of canned preserved food items. They consumed all healthy food in their day today meals. So they had enough nutrients I their meals. We are up to the fast food restaurants and junk food. So we lack nutritional supplements in our meals so we had to intake extra nutrients  esp while  we are pregnant.

Prenatal vitamins were around in the fifties but they were actually not very helpful since back then obstetricians were still all men who flinched at the word sex.
They were mostly iron and vitamin D and A.
I'm fascinated by that stuff too. (:
