I had cancer during my second pregnancy and a to use iv phenergan or promethazine (generic name) I was on 50 mg every 6 hrs pretty much constantly.  My daughter was fine and we never had an problems in resulting from it's use in my pregnancy.  Now I'm 32 weeks with baby #3 and I still use it, well pill form now thankfully.  Cancer is gone, but I also suffer with Gastroparesis...so far so good.  :)

Promethazine HCL (or hydrochloride) has quite a few different uses. The main use is as an Antihistamine. It can also be used for motion sickness as well as other causes of nausea/vomiting and pain management. It's a Category C drug to use while pregnant, meaning that no adequate studies have been done on humans.

I myself was on Phenergan for 7 months of my pregnancy, 2-4 times a day at 25 mg. I had extreme nausea/vomiting that was uncontrolled without it. My baby girl is 110% healthy with no adverse effects. If you're unsure, never hesitate to call your doctor and speak to them about it. They'll be able to give you the best information.
