Another breastfeeding question..

My little man is constantly wanting to be latched on. He isn't hungry, just using me as a pacifier. He will latch on and fall asleep.. As soon as I pull him off, he wakes up and starts screaming again. He doesn't really do it during  the day, just at night. I'm pretty sure he has his days and nights mixed up bc during the day I have to wake him and make him eat. How can I get him to stop using me as a pacifier? He's only a week old and Im definitelt not going to just let him cry.. And he spits out his actual pacifier even if we hold it in.. HELP! Lol I'm so tired I can't think straight and my boobs are so sore that I walk around the house without a bra lol any advice would definitely be appreciated! :)

Yea my son was doing this but I realized it and asked for the hospital pacifier. Its the inly one he will take. But he def would rather my breast than the pacifier.

Haha I was just going to say that, it's funny til you're the one tired with sore nipples! Are you sure he's latching on right? My lactation consultant said it shouldn't hurt for them to latch, but I can imagine even latching right would hurt if it's done too much. You can use the cream them clean it off before he eats? The first 3-4 weeks were the hardest for me, I hope it lets up soon!!

Thanks ladies! It's definitely not funny that I'm exhausted and my boobs are killing me and I'm worried that my little man may not feeding right. Ktowne, I have the cream and it says you don't have to wipe it off before feeding but Turner doesn't like it at all, so I try to use it as little as I can but you are so right! It is so demanding but I'll do anything to keep him healthy:) ugh Ill keepmy fingers crossed and hope it gets better!

Lmbo...I don't mean to laugh but this post freaks me out about breastfeeding...its like we already. Deal with nine months of scratching them and trying to get them to stop hurting...now its the constant feeding and sore nipples....gosh I'm not ready yet lol

The first few weeks of breastfeeding are SO demanding!! Are you using the cream (can't remember what it's called, I think lanisoh made it though?) for sore nipples? Poor abuse those things go through while bf'ing!

I keep him swaddled all night and his paci is the one that is for breastfeeding babies.. Ahh! I don't know what else to do. I feel like I have a baby on my booby 24 hours a day. Maybe putting him on his daddy's side of the bed will help.. Bc right now he is snoozin away while his dad is holding him. Thanks ladies!

My cousins gf just went through this, and she actually found letting other people hold him is all that helped. When he was with her he just wanted to be latched on. My son never took to pacifiers either. Maybe try swaddling him and laying him down, slipping a pacifier in while hes latched on, swing?
