My Shepard is 1 1/2 and has been amazing with me since I have been pregnant. My only thing would be do you really want to deal with a puppy and new born. Having gone through two puppy phases I can't imagine throwing a new born into the mix and dealing with the potty training, diapers, feedings, & overall drama of the newness.
I have an 8 yr old female. She was protective of my nephew when he was small but never agressive. I have a 15 yr old daughter, 12 yr old son, 6 yr old daughter and another boy on the way. My dog is getting older now but she has never been mean to any of the kids. Even when they would lay all over her when they were smaller. I think females tend to be less agressive than males but from experience rotties are a good breed
The bread if dog really doesnt matter, its all in how they are raised and trained
I have a old rottweiler Shes extremely gentle and loves kids it all depends on how u train them. With her if we wrestling or ywlling she starts to bark her head off. Does not like any aggressiveness
I have a 1 year old Rottweiler & when I was pregnant he was actually really protective with me , it was nice to be loves on so much
when i was pregnant i got a rottweiler as a puppy. at first she would never leavey side and once i had my son she turned on me. i couldnt walk her, go near her food bowls without her growling at me... wanted nothing to do with me.... i still showed her the same attention as she was getting before. im thinking about getting another rott pup but not until after i have this baby. i dont want the same problem
When I was a baby, we had a female rottweiler and she was very protective of me and basically considered me her baby so I don't think you should have a problem with one.

Thank you and yes I will get him trained
As long as you train him correctly and set rules I think you'll be fine. Maybe have him around people and kids a lot before your little one gets here so he knows how to act. Growing up my grandpa had two rottweilers and they were great with kids.
