Just a couple questions.

I had my 38 week check up today she checked me and I am only a fingertip dialated and still pretty thick is what she said. How can I get my cervix to soften up? I have sex with my boyfriend daily, I was walking, I have bounced on the edge pf our bed since I don't have an exercise ball. The Dr told me that if I don't have him by my due date the 23 that she is going to bring me into the hospital for taping? What is that? Then the next day she is going to start pitosin. With all that being said how can I soften my cervix and what is taping?

When you have sex make sure you lay down for 45 if he finishes inside you, that's how it helps. I have never heard of taping :/

Not sure wat taping is but u could try sitting on the bed with ur legs as wide as poss apart n rock back n forth quite far, this encourages ur babys head to push and rub ur cervix softening it,  hope this helps

Ok I will definetly try that. I really don't want to be induced I want him to come on his own but so far he is just as stubborn as I am. Has anyone used evening primrose oil? I was going to pick some up from the store tonight and give it a try.

Why does she want to induce you so soon? A due date is just a guess, I'm not dialated or effaced at all and also due the 23rd but my doctor said he won't induce me unless i go 2 weeks over,

I Looked It Up... The Best Answer I Found Was It's A Medication They Apply To Your Cervix To Cause Contractions To Specifically Thin The Cervix. The Pitosin Is An Iv Medication That Causes Strong Contractions For dialating. As Someone Who's Gone Through Pitosin Contractions... I Hope You Go Naturally.

Thank you. She doesn't want me to go over my due date by much because I have gestational diabetes. She doesn't want the baby to get too big he is only measuring a week ahead but within a week they can grow a bit more especially since my body isn't beaking down the sugars properly so all the additional sugars go to the baby and causes them to get a bit bigger.

Ive heard it be called other things but you can take it pill form or its this medicine thing they put up by ur cervix to help it soften and thin out. .  I have gestational diabetes as well. Im not due till march 30th. But she said this could be a possible scenario for me. Let me know how it goes!!! :) good luck mama!!

When I had my first son my doctor told me not to try any oil because it will make the baby slippery and hard for the doctor to catch.

Taking some evening primrose oil capsules and eating fresh pineapple and kiwi (fresh from produce section, not a can) are supposed to help thin it out. I haven't tried the primrose capsules yet but with my first son I ate the pineapple and kiwi for like a week everyday and went from 10% effaced at one appt and the next appt I was 60% effaced so it definitely helped me.! Good luck. :)
