last ultrasound appt at 24 weeks?!?!?!

I'm 32 weeks and at 24 weeks i was told by my doctor that i would get no more ultrasound check ups just regular obgyn appointments. But how would i know if my son is still growing healthy and how long he is or much much he weighs or if he head down before my due date or if the placenta is still good???? I'm definitely gonna ask my doctor next check up because all i hear is his heart beat but i don't even know any other answers. Was anyone told the same but ended up getting another one before their due date?

I'm 14 weeks and 5 days and I got a ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days from the hospital cause I had cramps but that doesn't count because my doctor didn't have a clue. I had another one at 12 weeks 3 days which was screening test and the last one they are giving me is the anatomy scan at 19 weeks.. my mom went to the same ob as me and they only gave her two as well I think my insurance only covers the ones really needed. But 3d or 4d I'll have to pay

I'm 31 weeks and I been getting ultrasounds every appointment since I started going...I'm so sorry for yall ladies who don't...I couldn't imagine not being able to see my baby at every appointment...I think that's ridiculous that some Dr's don't allow that..that's apart of ur pregnancy experience is to be able to see ur baby at ur appointments..I would definitely talk to yalls Dr's about that...good luck ladies God bless

I think it depends on the doctor my doctor is really nice im 26 weeks she scheduled me for growth ultrasounds every 4 weeks since i was about 4 months but im high risk even though this pregnancy is going great and she said she doesnt think there is anything wrong shes still does it because i asked her... I know some people only get 2 the whole pregnancy unless you make a request but you have to pay for the extra ultrasounds

My last one was at 20wks, unless I go over my due date or there ate complications it's not necessary. They can measure growth on the outside of your belly and can usually tell the positioning just by feeling it.

Alot of women don't get another one after the gender scan. They can tell if the baby is facing down by feeling your belly. My doctor told me last week NY son is facedown already. My only us was at 21 weeks. And my doctor said I won't get another one unless something seems wrong. So I think it's pretty normal.

Im having another thorough ultrasound at 32weeks where the specialist will be conducting it to check our baby's condition. Although with regular appointments with my obgyn, she always does normal ultrasound just to see how my baby is doing and to take a look at her position and hear her heartbeat.im in singapore.

I haven't had an ultrasound done sense I found out the gender which wasn't even 100% so I figured I'd get another soon after but when I asked she said she does the third one at 35 or 36 weeks. which will be my next visit by this time. I thought it was weird she wasn't giving me much, but that's how some doctors are. like the other doctor that's in the office he does ultrasounds like crazy and also does 3d ones, I didn't go so lucky with my doc. but if they thought something could be wrong with baby they'd check or say something to you. I know how it feels though, good luck!

That's normal, from then on they listen to the heart beat unless there is a reason for them to look at the baby again before birth. It's no big deal, I'm on my 3rd with a different dr. from my previous 2 pregnancies and I've actually had a few extra ultrasounds than what I got before and will have another at 34 weeks, I love that I get to see my baby so much throughout my pregnancy but remember,  ultrasounds are pricey as well.

My last ultrasound was at 20 weeks. In the UK we only get 2 through the whole pregnancy- one for dating at around 12 weeks and one to check development at around 20 weeks. The only time we get extra ultrasounds is if the doctor has reason to think the baby is low/high birth weight or the possibility of something wrong. Either that or you have the choice to pay to go private and pay for as many as you want including 3d/4d ultrasounds.

I think we would all like the chance of extra scans just for peace of mind and to see out babies, but The fact that you haven't had to be booked in for another scan is a good thing generally, just means that your doctor is happy that things are going the right way :)

I'm 38 weeks & I had my last ultrasound at 20 weeks when I found out the sex. By then their fingers, toes, spine, brain and what not should be developed enough to know if something will be wrong & if they think something may be wrong they would give you more ultrasound & testing. Also did you get the thing at 12 weeks where they take fluid from the palcenta with that big *** needle. That wouldnkf told your doctor if your baby had any birth defects. They should be measuring your belly every time you go into the doctor to track the growth of your baby. They have an idea in mind how big your belly should be. My doctor was able to feel my babies head, feet and little butt. Dont ask my how but she can feel & checks every time i go in. The babies head is down. They usually only give an ultrasound around 38 to 40 weeks if they can't feel where the baby is or if its breached. Hope this helps. Ask your doctor anyways though. Sometimes doctors do things differently.
