anyone knows what the ball i feel in my cervix is

so last night i checked my cervix and i know im dilating cuss the last time the dr checked me i was at 1cm 50% and when he checked me i could not feel anything but my cervix being open now i can feel a ball in my cervix and i think i might be like 1 1/2 cm but i dont think my cervix has changed much but i just want to know what the ball is that i feel i dont know if its my bag of water and i dont want to push at all on it cuss im only 26 week along im sry if its a little blunt has anyone had this happen or know what is going on

I agree never check yourself you could dialate, rupture membrane or even cause infection. Better safe than sorry.

they have already gave me the shots and they have me on bed rest i have another dr appt on the 21 so i was going to see what happends tell then i have only had a cuple pains yesterday thats y i checked but i know im not going to check my self agen cuss my sister was at 35 weeks she checked her self and broke her water but i just dont know if it was my water or membraines?  i have had one baby at 36 weeks she was just fine and came right home

yOU SHOULD never BE CHECKING IT as it can bring on labor or dialate you!!!!!

I have had 4 premature babies, one at 36,35,30 and 23 weeks. A baby needs 40 weeks to fully develope, someone said 36 weeks to some is full term but it is not! The brain is not even fully developed then and many babies ahve respitory distress even at 37-38 weeks, bad dr's will induce saying they are ready when they are not.

OK sorry about that rant! I had a hard time getting a full term baby! My 36 weeker and 35 weeker did get to come home in 24 hours and were fine, just slept alot. Now my 30 weeker and my 35 weeker I had Steriod Celestone shots to help develope thier lungs. I was on bed rest and meds to stop labor each time. My 30 weeker was born 3 days after my water broke, but not a full rupture. She had stopped moving so they got her out in 26 mins. She was on a partial resperator for 10 1/2 hours then fine and came home in 14 days at 3lbs 15oz, which she was 3lbs 8oz at birth. She has had no problems. Girls do better then boys though. Babies also wear out after a week of being born, although she did not, but that should be expected. Now my 23 weeker they did not try to save and she only lived about 3 hours. Law states they do not have to try until 24 weeks.

Now they were all born in 97,98,00,an01. I found out a year ago they were born early becasue I have low progesteorne. I had another one now 4 onths old first to be born full term! I had progesterone shots till 32 weeks. They are wonderful! They give them to woman that don't even have low progesteonre to stop early labor or dialation. They keep the uterus quiet per say. NOw if you are dialating then you might need a cerclage and bed rest and even hospital bed rest till delivery and meds if you are having contractions.

But do not check yourself and if you feel a bulge then it is most likly the bag of water of the baby! I have felt both and you need to go get checked asap!
