hcg only 17.2

well a misscarried back in july i had a d & c. we starting tring again after the doc said it was ok. well i took a home pregnancytest before i should have started my period but it was a very faint positve so i went to the doc and theirs said the same so they said to come back in a week. but 2 days before i had to go back i started my period which was when i was originally gonna start. so i went to the er and they took a urine test and it was negative and a bloode test it was positive my hcg leval was 17.2. they think that i am misscarring again but i dont really feel like i am i feel like im having a normal period. they said they are gonna do another hcg test to make sure my levals go all the way down but could i be pregnant and just have a period with my hcg levals at only 17.2 im thinking that if i am im only about 2 week. HELP!!!!!

When I miscarried I only bleed for 2 days. I had been spotting (nothing on my underwear, only when I wiped) for weeks before that so I guess that 5 days is fine. I was about 6 weeks along when I lost it. Hope that helps.

I had a chemical pregnancy in July - I caught the pregnancy about 5 days before I was due for my period (anxious testing after trying for six months), but I started bleeding two days after I was due.  I had a heavy and clotting period that month, but still tested + on a HPT a day later.  It's definitely possible to have hormones remaining for a few days after a m/c.  With a level that low, it's unlikely that you're actually still pregnant.  I totally understand what you're going through and I am so sorry.  Keep your head up and keep trying when your doctor gives the OK - I miscarried in July and I'm now 7 weeks pregnant (and praying this one goes full term).  Good luck to you.

Sounds like it could be a chemical pregnancy to me... or it could just be early pregnancy bleeding. Hopefully the next hcg test will show your levels doubling. best of luck to you keep us informed.

I just had a chemical pregnancy (m/c) on the 13th. I took an early preg test (7 days prior to period) and it came out positive. Unfortunatley my hcg was only 29 at that time. I ended up starting to bleed on the 13th. (the day my period was due) It was heavier than usual with a tad more cramping than usual. If I wouldn't have tested early I wouldn't of even known I was preggo. So it ended up being a chemical pregnancy or early m/c. I took a blood test on the 15th and my hcg was back to zero. I am sorry you are going through this and hope everything turns out, if not you can always try again.
