Thanks for all your advice its a hard one for me cuz my man isn't circumsized. And I said I didn't want it done then changed my mind.  A few days ago I brought it back up with him he said totaly up to me cuz I'm the mom. But I do agree it should be his choice I think he wants me to b sure  about it.  I have 9 more weeks to decide.

Thank you lady's

wow, some of you really need to speak for yourself. saying no women find uncircumsized penis' attractive is so WRONG. and if a women is so shallow that she rejects a man for being circumsized or not, she doesnt deserve to be intimate with that man anyway.

I let my husband decide due to the fact its a male issue in witch a woman has no expierance. He is circumsized so his choice was to have it done for our son as well. And we both agreed for many reasons. So our next born is set to have it done after birth as well.
I say do your research and choose based off your own beliefs :)
My husband personally said no  elephant trunks hanging around.

Do your research, make sure its current and vome to your own conclusions. Peraonally i did my research, and i agree 100% with cheesecake above. @aurorasmommy, pretty bold statement to say all women find it unattractive, less intimate and dont like giving head. I personally disagree completely with all of your statements. I prefer natural myself. Just because you feel a certain way doesnt mean we all do...Cshuter, do whats right for YOU and YOUR son. Either way its your son and only you know whats best for him. Id just reccomend doing some good updated research, from reliable medical sources, so you can make an. informed decision. We all have our opinions, lol obvious by all the above comments. But only you know whats right for your son.

Its cleaner and better in the long run.. and it only hurts a minute but there's also 2 ways to circumsize if you ask your doctor

We decided to get our son circumcise for many reasons.

One, my husband is and he says he would probably be upset if his parents didnt get him down.

Two, some people dont think so but im pretty sure my son will know his looks different compared to his dad at a very young age. People who say that they wont obviously never gad kids or been around them much. By the age of 2 yrs my sister was asking questions to my mom about the difference in there body parts. So yes i do believe kids learn fast.

Three, bullying. Its a big problem nowadays. I feel like when i was younger i didnt see or hear much about it and today you hear stories of teens suiciding because of extreme bullying. And its my worst nightmare to have to explain to my so  why sone kids call him "needle d i c k" or something like that.

Four, i knew a guy that had his down at 20yrs old and he said it was so painful! He wishes his parents did it when he was a newborn cuz now he will remember the pain forever.

Five, its our personnal choice and no one else can tell us what to do. If you decide yes or no it doesnt make you a bad parent. If ur more worried about what his junk will look like then theres a problem. Nobody should be judged its not like someone said they were hitting there child everyday, then people could judge. Obviously if it was bad for the baby drs wouldnt be doing it. Worry more about how ur kid will turn out as an adult. Im sure the last thing ur son wants u to think about is his junk. Hell deal with whatever comes after like any other man has up until now.

People should research regardless but we are here for support not a tongue lashing from strangers. If you feel so strongly against it start a blog but no need for hostility or judgment on this forum

Ctmom, you havent watched very many circumscisions have you (in real life, not just the horror story ones you can find online) my son didnt even cry, it was so quick. They used the cream numbing stuff. Not local anesthesia, which would require more pain with a shot anyways if you ask me! He did cry a lot when he had to have his heel pricked for the blood tests, that ended up being much harder to watch.

You every hear those funny stories about guys zipping their junk up in their pants? Happens way more and worse to boys with foreskin. Plus most women find it unattractive. I know you don't wanna think about your child being sexually active before they're even born but it feels better for them when there's no foreskin. Plus i feel it isn't as intimate with this layer of skin in between. plus (tmi) no girl really likes giving **'s to a guy with foreskin. There's more place for dirt and sweat and bodily fluids. Just because you try to teach your boy good hygiene, doesn't mean he'll listen lol. Boys go weeks without showers and don't care lol

Advocating surgery (cosmetic no less) without anesthesia may be your choice, but it would never be mine, nor should it be anyone elses.  For the rest of you, my post does not state anywhere that choosing circumcising ipso facto a bad parent makes.  However, I do think it is very important that women need to do a smidgen of research and insist on local anesthesia.  Most women have epidurals to spare themselves the pain of childbirth.  Don't little day old babies deserve to be spared the pain too?  Just saying a little research can only help.

My husband wasnt curcumsized so naturally with our boy we didnt get it done. At the time doxtors werent recommending it where we live and only a few doctors would actually perform the surgery. Theres no bad side effects to not having it done as long as its kept clean. Like anything if its not hygenic theres a risk of infection. I think its a personal decision somake sure you do ur researh and know the pros and cons. We had quite a few botxhed circumsisions in our town so that was enough to scare quite a few moms off the idea. Good luck with you decision.

Oh and btw when they took my son to get circumcised in the hospital he was gone for like 5 mins..he was asleep when they took him to get it done and he came back still asleep..so they do numb it with cream, it obviously didn't even phase my son, seeing how he slept through it being done!!

Wow yeah just bc a parent does decide to circumcise doesn't make them a bad parent..no one said anything about uncircumcised boys having  bad parents...lmao ashdub "worry about your son's own foreskin" haha

personally, im not going to circumsize my son but for this topic i'd do your own research using google scholar or academic journals. there is a lot false information on this topic that goes around, it is an outdated way of thought that it causes more infection and is umcommon (the current rate is about 50/50). it has been proven those are false and a lot of people just go off of word of mouth or their doctors advice (who gets paid for it so why wouldnt they suggest it) just do your own research to make an educated choice on whats right for you and your baby boy. good luck :)

CTmom, worry about your own sons foreskins.  You don't know who's a bad parent and who is not. If you can't be informative without being hateful you need to keep your opinions to yourself.

I don't think you have the room to call anyone a bad mother because of not putting your infant under anesthesia. Localized  anesthesia yes, but full blown is not necessary. They have been practicing and performing this procedure for MANY years and like with anything there can be complications, but it's unlikely. It's all a choice of the parent, no need to make people out to be monsters.

I left the choice up to my husband, he wanted our sons circumsized, so they will be.  My brother was never circumsized, neither is my brother in law, yet they both chose to have my nephews circumsized as well.  My brother did have issues with it when he was young.  Also a friend from college was not circumsized, and when he was a teenager the forskin ripped, I guess it was horrible.  I do think there are medical benifits to having it done, but completely understand why someone wouldnt want to do it too.

I have an 8 yr old who we decided not to and he has never had any issues with infections, I am having another boy due in 2 weeks and will not be having it done. I also know 5 other little boys who weren't and range from ages 2-10 none which have had issues with infections. My husband is circumcised and still did not see it necessary. I think its your personal choice but its considered cosmetic surgery for a reason because its not necessary for the health of your son. As for being made fun of my doc Said its about 50/50 now a days so I don't think it is really that rare or weird like people make it out to be. But the decision is yours good luck momma:)
