I'm 27 weeks today and I have only bought one onsie because i couldn't live without it lol but I recommend waiting until after the baby shower you'll have plenty of stuff to spend money on why get things that someone else is going to get for you?

I would go out and find something special that represents how you feel...maybe a special teddy bear...just something that you can have that is tangable to feed the need to buy for baby...but i would start buying lots of stuff yet...your still kinda early :)

Im 10w4days and i have been getting nutural stuff. The way i see it is it doesnt matter how far along u are there is always a chance something could sadly happen. :( I have a pram, my mum got me a basanet, we have been picking up small bits here and there. It just helps me picture that this is really happening. :)

I have a I'm-not-buying-unless-i-absolutely-love-it rule, because I'm waiting for the shower too. I did start working on the nursery about that time...betweeen that and setting up the registry, it's channeled my energy in a good way, and its been helpful to have a bit of a head start. I did say if I lost her, it wouldn't matter what I did or didn't have, I'd be crushed either way. So think positive, and enjoy every moment of it.

It is really tempting but I also say to try and wait. I dont think there is a right time to buy stuff but you can end up with too much stuff because you get so excited. If you really need to buy something buy some of the essentials: diapers, whipes, bubble bath, diaper cream and if you need something cute maybe a toy, neutral onsie, baby book. If you are going to have a baby shower you end up with A LOT of gifts, and people love buying towerls-blankets-clothes and toys, so you want to hold off on some of that until you see what you get. Maybe start planning your registry even though it is early so you can start picking stuff you like. Your time will get here, and it does seem slow but before you know it you will need to be buying everything!

Whatever you are comfortable with. I had a miscarriage after buying a baby book and blanket, but it wasn't any more or less painful because there were baby items in the house. I put the items in a memory box for my baby that I lost. Also... I work as a nurse in L&D and see people lose babies and pregnancies anywhere from 4 weeks to 40 weeks and beyond if they go overdue. It is super sad and I am not trying to scare you or anyone else, but it is a reality and if you were waiting to buy things until you knew you were "safe", you'd be waiting the whole time. If you want to buy things, buy them. Unfortunately (and I really hate to say this), something bad can happen at any stage in the pregnancy. I pray that nothing bad happens for you and that you have a healthy pregnancy and baby, and if it makes you feel good to buy stuff, have fun buying it :) Best wishes for you and the sweet little baby!!!

my bf and I started buying gender neutral things ...white Indies and green and cream colored blankets as soon as we found out. I had previously miscarried at 16 w but I gotta stay positive. Let your family and friends get the big stuff for you unless you cant wait but I dont see anything wrong with getting excited!

You could buy some diapers.....or wipes! It really is best to wait though, that way you know what the sex is and also so that you have stuff to register for when you are planning for the shower.

it is kinda better to wait :-(  my sister years ago didn't wait and started buying everything around 14wks.  She pretty much had a everything, then her baby suddenly passed.  She had a seriously hard time because everything was looking her in the face every day.
I'm 28wks and I've only bought a carseat (because it was cute and the company was discontinuing that pattern) and a onesie.  I'm just waiting after my baby shower for everything else lol.  It's just a way to protect yourself just incase the worst happens :-(

I'd wait until the second trimester to start buying things. Its only a couple of weeks away! The reason I say that is because with my first pregnancy I couldn't wait to buy things either and so I bought a onesie. Just one. Couple weeks later I had a miscarriage and it broke my heart to see it.
