Team pink! TIMES TWO!

Went to fetal fotos to find out the gender of my baby today, I am 18 weeks. To my surprise not only am I expecting a girl, but I'm expecting TWO! I had an ultrasound at ten weeks, we only saw one baby in there!! How could this have been missed?  I am still in shock!! Has this ever happened to any of you? Missing twins in your first scan?
I am so excited but scared. We were not prepared for one baby, let alone two. We are both full time students and both have to work full time to pay bills. I know the financial part of it will be figured out somehow, I'm just trying to enjoy the excitement that I'm having TWO little girls!
I'm very worried about premature labor now, risk of csection, etc. I planned on working till the day I go in labor because we cant afford it otherwise, and how possible is that with a twin pregnancy? I'm a CNA so its not easy work.
I know nothing about having twins and the fact that I can't see my dr. till Tuesday ***** and we keep playing phone tag. If you have any info on anything about twins please let me know!!

Maxeymom, let me tell you, I didn't think it could happen either!! Lol
Oh I figure the adjustment from no baby to one baby is a lot bigger than one to two, haha. I just hope they do get on the same schedules early on.
It makes sense though, I have a pretty good sized perfectly round belly, and I'm hearing all these moms who barely showed when they were farther along than I am! I've also had more backaches than I would think would be normal. Also the kicks I was feeling were strangely low and high up at the same time. It all makes sense now! Lol I also had a positive pregnancy test four days before my period
was due which could be because of the higher hormones! But yet I still would've never guessed...

Oh wow lol My first us showed only one baby too and I had actually been hoping for twins lol. Guess Im not left out just yet lol. Actually glad I saw this post :)

Oh my gosh thats so exciting! Ive been conviced since I found out I was prego that I was going to have twins, but after an ultraskund at 6 Weeks and 8 Weeks everyone has convinced me that theres only 1...we find out the sex in 2 Weeks, wouldnt that be exciting!!! Ahhh im so happy for you! One baby is scary enough, but my friend just had twin girls and said tha its not much different at this point than dealing with 1 as long as you keep them on a schedule :) congrats!!

Wow!!! I had no idea that could happen. I figured after hearing heart beat and doing ultrasound then there could be no way twins could be in there. My dr likes to joke around about twins. Thats really cool! I wish you the best of luck. Just eat healthy and drink plenty of water and dont over do anything and you should be ok.

Thanks for all your comments. Alicat, that is one thing I need to work on. I'm really bad about drinking enough and I need to start drinking way more water. Good to know its related to preterm labor.
Combs, 7 months?? I bet that was a shocker!  Lol
I've been looking at my ultrasound video I got over and over today. I'm just so in love with these two already :)

My husbands boss has twin girls that are 11. She had very early prenatal care & still they didn't expect twins until she was 7 months!! She had 2 ultrasounds & missed one of them both times. You are being blessed twice over & it's wonderful you see it that way too! Good luck!!

I am currently 31weeks pregnant with twins and my sister had her twin boys in January. All I can say is drink tons of water to avoid preterm labor. I found that out the hard way around 23 weeks. Then they told me I need to drink at least a gallon of water a day to avoid it happening again. I wish you luck and feel free to send me a message at anytime :)

When my mom was pregnant with my sister and I they told her there was only one at first but there ended up being two of us. Sometimes one twin like playing hide and seek.
