Incompetent Cervix

Has anyone ever experienced multiple pregnancies with an incompetent cervix?  I had a rescue cerclage with my first at 20 weeks and had an extremely difficult pregnancy after with four months of full bedrest, several emergency trips and weeks in the hospital and preterm labor from 16 weeks on.  I am 14 weeks into my second pregnancy and have already had my cerclage placed at 8 weeks.  My concern this time around is if my previous vaginal delivery would have further weakend my cervix or if its possible I will have a much smoother pregnancy this time around.  Any advice or input would be great.  Thanks.  Also has anyone done bedrest with another little one at home?  I managed when I was pregnant with my daughter, but I am super worried about trying to take care of her on bedrest.  Thanks!

Thanks so much for your input.  We live in rural Montana and we can't afford to pay anyone to stay with us.  Not to mention the fact that my husband would never go for it!  We have just recently moved completely across the state and are 500 miles away from any family or friends.  I am hoping my mother will be able to come stay for an extended length of time if I need it.  Thanks so much for responding and I am so glad they caught your cervix in time!  It is nice to know others are in the same boat.  I am hoping that I can do the same as you and have various visitors to help out now and then.  If anything, they are all just dying to see my daughter because they miss her so much!

I am 24 weeks pregnant, a rescue cerclage was placed at 20 weeks. It is my second pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was just closely watched--doing the ultrasounds every other week for the cervix lenght. I have 3 years old son. We have a living in help. I am from Ukraine and my family members are happy to come to visit/help us. Also we are planing on inviting my friend now for the winter so I could continue my bed rest  and she would take care of some house work and my son. My husband is a sales man and he travels three days a week at least.
Try to find a foreign person for living in help, they usually good at this and like the living in proposals.
