stop paying attention tot he internet and trust in your doctor

i am on many medications due to bi polar anxiety and back pain. i had 2 previous healthy beautiful boys but did not take any medication with either so needless to say when i found out i was preg and taking close to 9 dif pills a day i was scared to death. but the truth is your doctors and obgys know what is best for you. mine are all working together and i had to come off of 4 of the medications i was on but the doctor assured me the ones i am still taking are safe. this is based on over 40yrs of experience and previous patients . people are quick to judge thinking you might be selfish for taking medication your body despratly needs bc you may have a chemical imbalance or be bi polar , suffer from panic attacks, depression or like some on her u may have been addicted to drugs and on medication to stop the cravings. i use medhelp to talk to ther preg moms who r worried about meds. who dont know enough not to read the internet and see category d or even c and freak out and think for sure things are going to go wrong. trust your doctor he knows you best. trust him to inform your obgyn. someone who suffers from anxiety depression or bi polar would not be better off without meds. there would be a chemical imbalance int he brain and not only would that be a problem but the constant mood swings panic attacts heart palpatations.  the point is i use to be the one who wouldnt eat processed cheese or dli meat or even drink coffee or take tylenal. now i am on 4 meds and i sleep easy bc i trust in firs tthe lord!! and second that my doctors know what is best for me and my baby and know what is healthy for this pregnancy. so enjoy your pregnacy. !! if you dont feel 100% comfortable and safe with your doctor or his decisions get a second opinion. not the internet !!  what you read can scare you and put you under stress you do not need..

if anyone needs a friend i am here i am 6 weeks preg and bi polar II. i also suffer from extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and back pain which i was told i could saftly conti my pain meds.  as far as the anxiety meds i take my doc does recommend i come off of them before the third trimester. pain meds are to be taken when absolutely needed and my anxiety meds are not to be missed bc then i will be causes myself and baby more harm..

ok well im going to relax im super excited for doctor apt tomorrow i get to schedule my ultrasound and talk to my obgyn some more about my condition. im so happy bc my physcolgist and obgyn are working hand in hand. so i feel safe

I don't have any of the issues you do, but you do make a good point. Doctors don't become doctors by just putting in an application, dressing nice, and having a good personallity. Doctors go to school to learn. Under NO circumstances should you ever just go with what a doctor says if you're uncomfortable, you should get a second opinion to confirm, or just for peace of mind. BUT the internet is full of things that can cause you to go stir crazy. I for one looked up reactions to foods the other day because my son keeps having them with certain things, and there's so many different answers to what could be causing it, some simple and some very scary. Not to mention we can't forget the fact that the internet is mind blowing. I could be a fifty year old male or I could be a 23 year old female. No one on here knows for sure...so what you read could be a bunch of BS. Your doctor is real, and they do have a real degree, and second opinions shouldn't offend them, if they do OH WELL! Trust your doctor!

It is always best to get a second opinion. Not every doctor is very ethical or even knowledgeable. It all starts with trust between the patient and the doctor. Good luck! My SIL is bipolar and is weaning off of her medication so that she can become pregnant because what she is taking is definitely not safe during pregnancy. I believe there is one medication that is but I have no idea what it is called. I didn't ask her what it was by name.
