You get hooked up to monitors to keep track of babys heart rate and movement. Pretty much just to make sure the heart rate is regular and baby moves fine. They can keep you on from 15 minutes to however long it takes to get a good reading. If your baby isn't active enough they might give you I've water to wake it up a little more.
