It didnt hurt me...my appt was around 2 that day and i went into labor around 845pm and had my son at 320am.. My labor went smooth:)
How long after dis you go into labor? And did your delivery go smoothly??
I hope my doctor will do it today(: does it hurt?I know steph said it could feel uncomfortable.. but is there any actual pain?
I had my membranes stripped @ 39weeks and went in labor that same day:)
And if she was willing to induce me sometime next week I'm hoping she will agree to stripping the membranes!
Starshine I'm so sorry to hear that! Last week I was a 1cm dialated I'm sure I have to be a little more by now lol or I'm at least hoping so, I'm here at the docs right now and I decided I'm going to go ahead and bring it up, I'm just so uncomfortable already, she has dropped doc days she can feel her head right there but somehow she still seems to find her way into my ribs, most likely because my torso is so small lol my only worry is last week she said I was 0% effaced so Idk if that changes anything..
I had a sweep at 40 + 9 days with my 1st...mw
wouldn't do it before then. I have a friend who
Begged her mw at 37 weeks... and they did it...andshe had baby later that week.... i m considering
Seeing my mw tomorrow and see if I can have an early sweep.... I'm 37+3 ... I know he's better where he is but I'm in so much pain... and my feet And hands have been swollen this week. Plus I fell
Out the back door last night (accidentally). And mow I feel even worse.
Its worth asking about anyway... if your Dr doesnt want to quite yet then at least youll know when he/she feels comfortable doing it... do you know if your dialated at all? i wasnt enough so i couldnt get mine stripped... but my sister go it done both pregnancies and she went into labour both times later that day... she has really awesome deliveries that most mommas would be jealous about lol
I know people who have had it done near/past their due date. It seems to help if your body is ready to deliver but my friends who have had it done have said it was pretty uncomfortable. I don't think it's too early to bring it up but I'm not sure if your doctor would do it before you're closer to full term (but I'm a pretty "crunchy" patient, avoiding most interventions and chose my doctor to line up with my preferences).
