confused

Early this morning around 7 am or so I was woken by what I thought was my water breaking. I went to the restroom and I was wet a little it wasn't much I know it wasn't pee but the water didn't keep coming.. could that still have been my water breaking or something else? I'm not sure because last night I got a scare I felt pains today I'm still having pains but not every 4 minutes and I'm just at a loss because I don't feel like I'm in labor or going to be not yet at least but curious what the substance could of been cause for a fact I know it wasn't pee

I didn't feel like I was in labor in the beginning either. It felt like cramps and when I went to the hospital I wasn't in pain yet and it was just uncomfortable. The pain is worst after your water breaks. I had the same problem though when I thought my water broke but they told me it didn't wwen I went to the E.R. if you go they will take you to maternity and they have a paper that they put on the outside of your vagina and it is supposed to change color if it is amniotic fluid. I hope that helps. They can probably check to see if you are having contractions with a stress test too while you're there

My water broke and it was a small tiny gush(i explain it as when u first start ur period and werent expecting it) and i didnt know whether it was pee, my water or what, i instantly started having contractions, and for the remainder of my labor(14 hrs total) i was peeing every 3 mins pretty much bc my water was constantly dripping and once in a while would gush

It can actually stop leaking when u stand up because sometimes the baby's head plugs up Ur cervix like a cork and keeps it from leaking. But from what I understand that doesn't happen often and most women still have at least a TINY trickle if not more

Water breaking is actually different between each woman. So there is actually no telling unless you go to dr. But if youre not having contractions it may just be discharge.
