I plan on naming my little princess Ava Mae. According to many, it's very common. However, I don't know anyone names Ava! My husband and I LOVE the name and I think that is all that counts. So many family members and friends will chime in and either hate or love the name, but all that counts is that her mom and dad love her and her name.
And like another poster said, it's a balancing act. There is NO way to know what your kid will prefer. I have a VERY common name and I LOVE it. When I was looking for names for my little one we both knew we wanted a NORMAL name...no weird spelling, no guessing how it is pronounced, nothing ambiguous. I hope she loves her name and realizes how much thought we put into picking out her name! :)
I don't exactly have any name suggestions, but wanted to say that yes common names aren't so cool. My name is super common, everyone has it, and it gets annoying hearing my name get called a lot not for me. But at the same time, names that are very rare and hard to pronounce can get old, too. I have a couple friends with names that have very weird spellings, and no one seems to know how to pronounce it. They get annoyed with that a lot too. So it's kind of a balancing act. Hope you can find a great name! :)
I like names that are not so common but sadly all uncommon names become common when they are cool names, lol! My first son I names Tristan. It is my all time favorite boy name. Never met another Tristan. Girls names Peyton, Hayden, and Savanna. Also Dalton is a cute boy name:)
If I had a boy I was going to name him Dax Donavon. I named my girls Aspen and Navy. Other girl names I liked were Alba, Luxe, Ailbe (all-bay), Aeife (ee-fah), Ariadne (air-e-odd-nay).
I like Moriah, Kara, Lydia
Jedidiah, Micah
For some reason I like names that end with the sound "ah"
merreigha (mer ray ah)
riley
radiance
i called my little girl Cléo ( also spelt Clio), i like unique names too. i like Caleb or Keegan for a boy, dont know why they're all "K" sounding names lol i like hannah and daniel but maybe not exotic enough lol maybe try googling african names, or somewhere like that and see what ya find? i tend to do that, there are some strange names. iv heard of one called Septamus, meaning 7th child. xo
