maternity leave!?

i am 29 weeks pregnant i work at a warehouse they make me work overtime almost everyday(10-12hr shifts) i get really bad back pains(could be normal this is my 1st pregnancy) but i feel like i am pushing myself too much i tried telling my dr my situation but she really didnt seem to care.A lot of people at work tell me i should tell my dr about this so they can ge me on my leave maybe at my 34 weeks but she denied that. I feel like she just doesnt care should i try changing clinics?

Take it easy at work, if your doctor won't grant you leave then ask for a note stating that you have to take it easy. I didn't, I work my butt off and I'm regretting it. I'm 32 weeks and because I running back and forth and lifting at work, its caused stress on my baby. I now have to do an nft test and an ultrasound every week. He's measuring 3 pounds 4 ounces so he's small and also his heart dropped to 88 but jumped back to 147/150. I had to have an ultrasound immediately, which they found out he's not doing his practice breathing right. I'm going to ask on Tuesday for mine. But its important that you don't over work your body like I did and have it affect your baby later on. I would ask for a note station g what you can and can't do.

I think it's different state from state and also what your company's policy is. You may not need one but either way your only allotted so much leave and 12 weeks is the usual I believe so that don't leave you much for after you have the baby definitely look into it before making that decision. If I were you I would look into a reduced schedule above anything.  Maybe your Dr will at least go for that too. Plus how would you get paid even with a Dr's note. Most companies don't pay maternity leave?

You can go on maternity leave at 29 weeks anyways! That what I did with my first. 11 weeks before your due date is the earliest by law so you shouldn't need your DR to put you on leave you just have to tell your company that you want to start leave now

Yeah trust me I totally get it. A good friend of mine is going through it too. She is working over nights at a casino, mandatory over time, hardly sleeping, having a very stressful pregnancy.  She also has gestational diabetes and because of her work schedule and lack of sleep it's so hard for her to eat properly because of how strict you have to be with that. She is 31 weeks and hasn't gained any weight. She was truly concerned for her baby's health as well as her own and her Dr still wouldn't grant her leave and that really is medically necessary,  he scheduled her an ultrasound to check the baby's weight and she Is measuring under. If that's not reason to grant leave I don't know what is. But I'm 37 weeks and still don't know the size of my baby I just know he is measuring correctly.. I asked if they would tell me his weight and they said no because they only check (through another ultrasound) if they feel he is over or under and I'm not.

Most Dr's won't put you on leave unless it Is actually effecting your and the baby's health. Back pains etc are still normal pregnancy symptoms.. so chances are switching Dr's won't do you any good either

Change doctors. They need to care about things like that. I changed doctors, and I love my new doctor.
