Cervix check today...shortened a bit again

So I had an appt. today to have my cervix length measured by ultrasound. I will be 27 weeks tomorrow and at 18w my cervix was 8.5cm. At 24w it was 3.5cm and today is was 3.1cm. Not too too bad, but they did say I have to be VERY strict with bedrest. I am trying so hard! But if someone is not with me all the time, it's difficult, but it looks like I will have some more help soon enough here, hopefully. I've been getting more contractions lately and I really wanted to know if I had dilated, but they were too busy to check. But they did check to see if the bacterial vaginosis I had for over a month was gone, and it was! That is a major relief since I know that can cause issues. While the tech was checking my cervix on u/s, she took a peek at baby, she was so active and had hiccups! She kept looking at the spine...for a long time so I was kinda freaked out a bit, not sure what she was looking for. Then she got the heart rate which was 167. Baby is head down and in a good position and while she was looking at the baby, I THINK I got a glimpse of the goods again and now I am lost. She was saying, here is the spine, here is the butt and legs etc. and when she said that I looked and I am ALMOST positive it looked like boy parts. LOL Great...this is what I was afraid of...my "girl" turning into a "boy" haha  I will know for sure tomorrow when I have my 3D/4D done. =) "she" better cooperate!!! lol  But then she had the doctor look over the scan and all they said was I need to stay on strict bedrest, so I'm guessing baby looked okay and they said there was no need for another ultrasound at this point. Also, no mention of medications or anything this time around. I'm kind of surprised, but hopefully I will make it through without those nasty meds! We will see. If my contractions pick up. I have to call them immediately. I'm excited for tomorrow's scan though and hoping to get some really great pictures!

I just barely found out.  I even had an iud.  I guess I'm supposed to have six kids whether I wanted it or not :)  I'm excited tho.  Nothing better than a precious new born.

Oh wow Nicole, you start out the shorter side! Mine isn't too bad then for where I am right now. I guess they were just concerned with the jump from 8.5 to 3.5...but maybe my body is just preparing early and it's nothing to worry about? (I like to think that!)

And yes, this girl better still be a girl tomorrow!!! LOL I am so excited to buy girly things, but if it somehow is a boy, I will be completely set! ;)

Congrats on a good appointment. 3.1 is still pretty long. They told me on Monday I'm 3.8 so it can't be too bad.

Crossing my fingers for PINK results tomorrow! Good luck.
