thinking of birthing ways. advise needed

I've already had a rollercoaster ride with this pregnancy only being 8 weeks along. But now that everything is looking great I've had pleanty of time while being in the hospital not able to sleep with the wonderful founds of baby crys.. I had an epidural with my son and it pretty much blew. I felt every thing and it felt like I had to poop ( tmi I know but the truth).. being of new age religion I want to do it as natural as possible. No pain meds what soever. But unsure on pain level... I labored with my son for 36,hours with 3 hours of pushing. ( son was 10 lbs even and 22 1/2 long ) this pregnancy I've lost 20 lbs instead of gaining (kinda strange).. but yea, has anyone here given birth all natural? What was it like? Is it worth it?

I agree, its definatley worth it, I've had 10 all natural and active and for me staying upright and active, and off the bed was the, most important part to a succesful drug free birth, using the shower, birthing pool for pain relief once in active labour was also imortantm with my last I had an unassisted water birth which was amazing, labours tewnd to go quicker the second time round as your vody has done it all before and I would reccomend red raspberry leaf tea/tablets from 36 wks if your pregnacy is pretty straight forward

I did exactly the same as you first time, they thought I was having a whopper and I'm only little, so I listened. My second came too quickly for them to interfere and was only a few ounces less than my first at 7lb14. I also had had a bad tear first time which concerned them, but I didnt need a single stich after my second. Its too hard to describe, but you honestly dont feel the pain in the way you will be imagining...you instinctively deal with it, its weird.

That's awesome! I wanted to with my son but due to his size drs recomended it. So like a dumb one I listened. But I'm more than ready to do it natural. Not even a simple tylenol! Lol. The way I see it, women have been doing this since the beggining of time well before the invention of meds, why can't I do the same? Because its easier to pop a pill or inject a pain reliever? Ya natural is the way... still worried about the pain lol I'm kind of a pu*** when it comes to it

It is sooooo worth it! It was the best experience of my life and I was so proud of myself. My first delivery went badly and upset me so much that I felt I had let down my son, it contributed to post natal depression in my case. Second time was an absolute breeze, I didnt let them interfere and it went so well. My body took over, I was amazed by nature that day. As always, be prepared for things not to turn out the way you would like them to, but why not give it a try, the body's natural pain relief system kicks in and I would go so far as to say it does it better than drugs. The other advantage is that when your body is doing it all by itself, you have no fear...its hard to describe, but nature doing is work is really magical!
