if this helps i have hyperthyroidism.  it  was scary for me at first cause i didn't know wat was goin on. it started affectin my pregnancy, i had no appetite, i would be sick, i get fast heartbeat, cold sweats. i thought i was goin to die at one point i wasnt gainin weight. u will get medication to regulate ur levels. am 32 wks pregnant,  my baby is about 4 to 5 lbs. at 28 wks he was 3 lbs 2 oz. it took about 3 mths for my levels to regulate.  the meds take about  a mth to work, just hang in there and stay calm as possible.  thyroids mess  wid ur emotions.

I've had hypothyroidism for 5 or 6 years now and while I don't have children....it is known to cause heavier periods and possibly other hormone imbalances......
most women who have it prior to pregnancy are okay to conceive, even if it takes a little extra work and if you're diagnosed during pregnancy, like my friend was, they just help you regulate your levels w/medication such as synthroid..
