tips to help stop smoking

Okay. I'm 22 and I've been smoking daily since I was 13. I want to stop now that I'm pregnant but I can't seem to just put them down. Any helpful tips? I'm 5 months pregnant and really want my baby to be healthy. That and I want me and my baby's father to stop fighting about it so much.

Something that helped me was to still go outside with a cigarette and just hold it and act like I was smoking. I just wouldn't light it. Eventually I got to where I didn't need to go out there at all.

I smoked silk cut silver for a month and the managed to stop. They are so low on nicotine so it' becomes more mental :) I smoked for 11 years and managed to quit in a month with those :)

Okay thanks. I'm gonna try to cut back but I honestly can't see myself quitting. My nerves are horrible and I get stressed super easy. I was born early but I don't think it was cause of my mom smoking. She moved a couch lol.

I smoked thru my first pregnancy and my son was born a day over his due date and he was perfectly healthy. Matter of fact, hes never sick. I'm still smoking in this pregnancy but ive cut back a lot. My doctor said I shouldn't just quit, could harm baby. My mother smoked thru all 3 of her pregnancies and all her children are perfectly healthy so did my mother in law. If you can't quit, just cut back. I literally smoked a whole pack a day when I found out I was pregnant. Tried to quit a few times and I couldn't. So I cut back to now only maybe 5 or 6 a day.

I have a problem with smoking im 7 months and still smoking... i cut down a lot though. Also i was told that if you're mid second trimester you should just cut down because now the baby has the nicotine and it could be harmful to just quit. Im the product of a smoker. My mom smoked throughout her whole pregnancy with me and my three siblings. The only thing that was wrong with us was being born early. We dont have tubes down our ears. My 6 year old son on the other hand i did not smoke with him and he needed a tube put in his ear because it wasnt draining properly.

Ok im a year older and I've been buying cigarettes daily since I was ten... no joke! :/
I quit as soon as I found out the guilt of smoking with my unborn was enough. .. fruit and water instead of a cig helped me.
Its tough but worth it three weeks off dem n I feel fab x

For me...I just thought about my sisters kids..who all had to have nasal surgeries and tubes in their ears from my sister smoking thru her pregnancies...and they we're all extremely premature...I know it is hard but the sooner you quit the less damage there will be..just think about your baby every time you think of smoking...it's worked for me thru both pregnancies..even tho my boyfriend hasn't even tried quiting.. Plus the money you save on not smoking will help buying things for baby...maybe everytime you think of getting a pack...get an outfit for baby instead
