trying to wait is driving me crazy!

Hey ladies, this is just a quick vent. DH and I have been doing the BD for a while now, and I have to wait another week to see if AF comes. It's driving me insane. My appetite has gone up, and my mood swings are going crazy, just like they did right before we found out I was pregnant last time. But I can't test yet. Any other women TTC in the same boat as me?

So, my temperature went back up today - higher than it has been - but I am getting that periody feeling so I don't know what to think.  It's my first month charting BBT so it is frusturating that I don't know what to expect.  I guess I am just going to wait 'til at least 18DPO to take a test if AF doesn't come - I can't stand the thought of another negative EPT.  But, the length of this cycle is killing me - it's a day longer, so far, than my usual - I wish I had a 28-30 day cycle like normal people - lol.

A chemical pregnancy is a VERY early miscarriage, basically the egg is fertilized, but doesn't implant.  So, the cycle ends as normal with a period.  But, there is enough of a hormone spike for some really sensitive EPT's to detect.  I have heard, even from my doctor, that up to 1/2 of all first pregnancies end in a chemical pregnancy - but they are not detected that often b/c they are usually only detected when someone tests really early.  You can google it and get all kinds of info - if you are so inclined.  The only reason I detected mine is because that cycle was 54 days long - and I didn't get a BFP until day 47 (I had been testing since day 36 or so), so I knew something was screwy anyways.  So, when I started bleeding on day 54, my doctor had me come in right away and the blood test was negative, of course.  The nice thing about that kind of miscarriage is since there was no implantation, you don't have to have a procedure to get anything removed - the period may be slightly more clotty, which mine was, but other than that it was the same as any other cycle.  So, if I had to have a miscarriage, that was the way to go I guess - now I am waiting for a STICKY BFP! :-)

I have only started charting temperatures this month, and even with some mornings where I woke up later than normal, my temperatures still formed a pattern, for the most part - so it's been kind of cool to watch and learn about.  My DH probably thinks I am a bit obsessive with all of the tracking I am doing, too, haha.  But, it's easy for them - all they have to do is provide some good swimmers - lol - they just don't understand the stress of being a woman!

Oh, my biggest symptom this month has also been extreme mood swings!  Wow, ever since last last week I have been pretty awful!  I am a teacher so I really feel bad for my kids.  But, I was hopeful that it meant I was pregnant since I usually don't get such bad PMS - but who knows.

Let me know how the end of the month goes for you - hopefully AF won't make her ugly appearance!  :-)

I am on day 29 of my cycle and the tww has been really tough. I have a 24-28 day cycle normally but will wait till I am on 31 days to test. So I understand your desire to test. Hang in there and lots of baby dust to you.

Thank you, Angela. If you don't mind me asking, what's a chemical pregnancy? Like it shows up on a home test but not a blood test? I haven't been charting my temp, just because my wake-up time is so odd that it wouldn't be the same time every day. Besides, DH gets a little antsy when I try to track everything and make it like a schedule. That, in turn, makes me agitated. But I do use the ovulation tracker and menstrual cycle tracker. I can understand the EPT's being an expensive habit, as I used to have that habit a couple of months back. I get so nervous to take them because I don't want to see a negative result. But thank you for the well wishes! And best of luck next month if AF shows up this month!

Yep, I am in your boat, too.  We've been BD'ing like crazy!  Been TTC since July 2008.  I've had one chemical pregnancy in November and no other BFP's since.  This is the first cycle I have been charting temp's and today, 12DPO, it went down :-( so I am suspecting AF any time now - unfortunately.  Also, I used OPK's again this month for the first time since the chemical pregnancy.  I have been really good this month about NOT taking EPT's b/c I can't bear to see another negative - plus it was getting to be an expensive habit.  Check out my chart if you want.  Baby dust to you!  I hope you have better luck this month than I am probably going to have.

I just want to say good luck in your tww. I would go crazy every month waiting for af or to test. Try to distract yourself this week with a good book or by going to see a movie after work.
