u/s for twins

I'm 16.6 today with twinnsss !! I have a doctors appt on Tuesday . I've only had 1 u/s at 12 Weeks, and at my last doctors appt my doctor could only hear one heartbeat but she wasn't concerned because she said they're so small . I'm nervous because of vanishing twins and just the fact that some times one twin just dies. It's not stressing me out but I kind of do want an u/s just to confirm they're both ok . My next scheduled u/s isn't until 21 Weeks . My biggest concern comes from a previous 2nd trimester stillborn which puts me at high risk already, that on top of twins but I feel like I'm the only one who is concerned ! How do I request an u/s from my doctor without sounding like a crazy person ?

Congrats to.you too. I didn't have any of the 'signs' for twins either, it's all myths as everyone is different cae. I was shocked when I found out too. It's more common.during the first trimester to have a twin vanish, and if one is considerably larger than the other. Mine are 3mm in difference and hearing mixed things about it. But going to stop reading stuff on the Web as it's only based on a few pregnancies at ths end of the day! Yeah they can't refuse you Honey

congrats distortedmind !! Yeah my babies are in different sacs with different placentas which i guess is the reason they aren't as concerned . And i think I'm just going to ask for a u/s, don't think they'll just say no lol

Cae i had no idea ! I literally found out my first u/s .They don't run on either side of our families , it was just luck of the draw i guess . I have been really blessed with this one because most people pregnant with twins have twice the symptoms but i haven't had any no morning sickness, no heartburn (yet), no cramps , nothing , just a little tired .

I found out last week I am having twins also. I'm am panicking like mad too about the vanishing twin especially since they sharing a placenta so it's more common. But I am getting an u/s every fortnight to keep an eye on them. They normally (from what I read) don't tell you that your going to have twins if they think there may be major implications. I would just explain the situation, and ask if you would be able to have at least one a month, as they do normally offer more with twins.

Just curious, did you have any clues that you were pregnant with twins early on? Twins run on both mine and my husband's side of the family, and I feel larger than I think I should. I'm currently around 5 or 6 weeks with my second child.

Yes Mandatace, That's what you would think right ? But I feel like my obgyn is so big now that patients are no longer considered patients just numbers. When you go in you see a different doctor each time because you have no idea who will be delivering your baby. Whichever doctor is on call that night . They all are high risk specialist but I also go to maternal fetal medicine and they don't seem concerned either.

Tell your dr your worried and need that affirmation that you still have 2 bubs there. I would have thought that if your high risk plus twins that your dr would be more proactive in monitoring you and the babies.
