I'm high risk. I go to the university of Iowa... due to my history and health conditions. ..my Dr has helped me get through my miscarriages and has tried to get me answers... I have had all tests imaginable for people who miscarry. ... my husband and I have under went genetic testing, multiple blood tests and ultrasounds... I would hate to switch... usually if my husband can't go to appointments my mom would go but currently She is in colorada with My brother who recently was in a car accident and became paralyzed.

I understand you want your partner there but most likely you won't see anything. At most, you'll see a sac if you even are lucky enough for that. If your doctor only sees people on Friday, have you looked into a new doctor? One that is available all week would be better.

I have had 4 miscarriages... the Dr actually wanted to see me at 5 wk but he only sees patients on Friday and I want my husband there. ..I may have to start taking heparin
...at one time my anticardiolypin was off and I was started on aspirin. . He wants to be sure I don't miscarriage due to clotting...I really don't want to go to my first ultrasound by myself so scheduled it a week early so my hubby can go

I wouldn't have one that early either. All it does is freak you out. I had one done thinking I was further along and all we saw was some sort of dark spot. Dr. figured it looked like about 5 weeks or so but we had to run a bunch of tests and I have a followup ultrasound tomorrow to see if things are growing right in there. I don't recommend putting yourself through that kind of scare, it's been a super-stressful 2 weeks.

Do you mind if I ask WHY you're having one done so early? That's not really normal and it's surprising your doctor would even bother doing one before 6 weeks unless there's a serious reason to worry.

I would not recommend having one that early. No doctor should give one that early, for a few reasons. You will no likely see anything, making the ultrasound pointless. Most doctors won't even see patients as early as yours is - typically an ultrasound and visit isn't done till 6+ weeks.

I had one at 5w2d and all we saw was a sac. I went back at 6w5d and saw a heartbeat. So I would deffinently try and reschedule closer to 7 weeks.

Nothing, if you are saying you'll be 4 w 4d from your first day of your last period.  I'd wait a couple of weeks, it's a waste of time and freaks people out, to have ultrasounds any earlier than the 6th week (counted the medical way).
