unanswered pregnancy

Have a positive pregnancy but was in the er x2 this week for severe back pain, first time I was told possible kidney stone, second I was told possible ectopic.  My hcg level went from 4855 to 7200 within 24 hours but the can not see anything in the us.  My last period was 01/02/08 so at the most I am 4 weeks along.  I have to go for more blood work tomorrow.  Do you really think that  I have an ectopic or is it just to early to see anything on the us?  Someone help me?

yeah, 4 weeks is too early to see anything. I had mine at 6w2d and i can see the heartbeat and the baby (of course!) with vaginal u/s. Please get another u/s at 6weeks and i am sure you could at least see the sac and probably the baby too!

Have you been checked for a UTI?  If it is bad enough it could go to your kidneys and cause some back pain.

Too early to see anything! Those are really high numbers which could mean multiple babies or molar pregnancy. Don't freak out! You don't know anything yet, so just take everything as it comes and wait a few weeks for an ultrasound that will actually tell you something!

Hi, your numbers look great and at only 4 weeks you can't reallu see anything.  You need to wait until around 6 -7 weeks before much shows up.  The pain i am not sure about but the next lot of tests should tell you more.  Good luck
