uterus

So I'm a ftm...I'm 25.2 and I've been wondering why should you strengthen your uterus? I've been reading a lot of posts about this lately and I would really love some insight... Thank you :)

yep but you have to make sure its the herbal type and it will say red raspberry leaf tea,, if you just buy raspberry leaf tea, its probably just your average black tea flavoured with raspberry... which def wont work!! :)

argh I mean I dont start the tablets until 38 wks NOT 28 wk lol, some people say it doesnt work but I swear by it and you do have to have it everyday and it wont do any good if you have it randomly or start at 39 wks :)

you need to get the red raspberry leaf tea, its a herbal tea and contains no caffine, you drink it without milk, I've always added honey as it is an aquired taste, you need to have at least 3 cups per day, everyday, sometimes the tablets are easier to take, especially if you dont like the taste of the tea, depending on which brand you get, just  follow the direstions and take the maximum daily dose, you will get both of these from a health food shop or a chemist that stocks alternative medicines/suppliments :)

you should start drinking it from 36 wks if you have had an uncomplicated pregnancy, some women drink the tea all the way through their pregnancies and have no problems, but if you have an irritable uterus etc, yes it can cause uterine contractions, thats why they say its best from 36 wks, also if this isnt your first pregnancy you dont usually have to have as much of the tea each day, as I've had 10 babies, I usually dont strat it until 28 wks, my labours are around 1 hr long :)

your uterus is a muscle and like any other muscle works best when its kept tonned, thats why people drink red raspberry teaf tea or take the tablets, it tones and strengthens your uterus, the benefits of this is that during labour it will work better during contractions, making the contractions more efficient, whoich can shorten your labour by around an hour or so :)
