I definitely wanted a water birth with my first. Here in Germany they pretty much offer it everywhere :-) sadly mine ended in an emergency c-section :-(  but I relaxed a bit in the tub. It was very nice. I definitely want to try a water birth with my second baby. There are lots of benefits. Much better for baby, and the pain should be easier to handle... Plus there is a smaller chance of you tearing down there... So yeah,i would def. At least give it a try.if its not for you, you can always hop out.. ;-)

I had a water birth with my first. it was amazing. I got in at around 6cm and it felt like a comforting hug lol it definately left me pain free for a while. I only used gas and air and it was overall 6 hours of active labour. Id definately recommend it esp for your first as its so soothing and you can still have pain relief if you felt you needed it, can not have epidural though but if you were getting very bad pains you can always hop out to get epidural.

I'm doing one. My midwife highly recommends it but says most doctor s offices in my town won't do it. Good thing I picked the right office. I'm excited but nervous to do it naturally!

from my experience the water really does help with the pain and pressure from labor. i didnt have a water birth ( would LOVE to have had one but no places anywhere near me offered it) so i labored on my own untill i went into the hospital in a pool.. and wayy better than in a bed or even walking around.

I really want to do a waterbirth. There is a midwifery in my town that is set up so nicely and they specialize in waterbirths. I was unsure until I read up on their site and reviews. This is my first pregnancy and we literally just found out. :-) We have been trying for almost a year so I had a lot of time to research. After watching "The Business of Being Born" I got more into researching midwives which brought me back to waterbirths.
