BETA 172....................IS THAT A GOOD NUMBER

Hello evryone i had beta hcg test done yesterday and it was around 172, does anyone knows if thats a good number or not because i don't go back to the docs until monday. Thank you for your response and have a good day

When I was 4 weeks 2 days, my hcg was 180 and a week later went up to 3,000.  I might have already responded to this post before, but in case I didn't I wanted you to know my situation.  Like Gina said, as long as their doubling properly is what you want to monitor.  By the way, the nurse told me that 180 put me at about 2-3 weeks past conception so I was right on target.

mine were fairly low but i caught my pregnancy VERY early! you will need to see what it is monday fingers crossed thery are doubling as mine did not and 16th may wud have been u mam, but he in my garden. please take it easy and try not to worry - easier said than done i know!

It's tough to say with just one HCG number. The main thing is, if their doubling or not. So Monday will be the important number! There is just such a far range between these numbers thats its difficult to say whats good and whats not. I personally think their all good as long as their rising. I had my first HCG done at 4W5D and mine was already at 6,000! But I think my baby is a little farther along than my LMP says...but thats just me. So everyones numbers are different, just make sure their going up!

I just pm'd you the link to that site!!!  Yes I agree though....everyone is different!  Mine were at 30 when I had mine done....I think that I cought my pregnancy very early!  And to think that if I had not gone for the "spider bite" that ended being a tick bite I would have never known until probably monday or tuesday that I was preggers!!!  Congrats girl.....breathe and rest up you'll need it!!!!

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

    * 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
    * 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
    * 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
    *6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml

I'm not sure how far along you are but here are the levels according the the american pregnancy association.  As you can see, they vary quite a bit!  At 5 weeks it says 18 to 7,340!  I guess every woman and every pregnancy are truly different =)  Good luck!
