Does this sound right?

I had my first prenantal appountmebt today. Pregnancy test and the counseling. the nursr told me that they do not do ultrasounds until 5 or 6 months along, does this sound right? she aso said they do not do blood HCG work unless there seems to be something wrong. Anyone experience this?

I had my first ultrasound just to see if it matched  my last period...well it didn't lol. At the time,  I was suppose to be 9 weeks,  but in reality,  I was only 6 weeks according to the vaginal ultrasound.

I never had my HCG checked either. But my first ultrasound was at 8ish weeks

I really dnt think thats right bc my first ultrasound was at 10 weeks find another doctor i kno u would like to keep track of ur bby monthly

no it doesnt sound right i had one when i was 14 weeks and ive got another one in 3 more weeks ill be 18 weeks long

With my first pregnancy I had a dating one because I didn't know when my last period was and an anatomy scan at 19 weeks. My second pregnancy I had just the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. With this last baby I had one at 14 weeks because they couldn't find a heartbeat with the doppler and an anatomy scan at 22 weeks. They wouldn't of done the one at 14 weeks if they had been able to pick up the heartbeat.

My clinic is like that. They only give earlier ultrasounds to date the pregnancy if you don't know when you had your last period. Most clinics do an NT Scan between 12 weeks and 13 weeks 6 days for down syndrome. It also depends if you are high risk or not. The only ultrasound any doctor HAS to do is the anatomy scan.

Yeah I think 5 months is to long to wait to see if everything is okay. I think I should find another doctor.

I had an ultrasound at 10 weeks, another at 16 weeks and one at 21 weeks

That's how my clinic is. The only reason I got my hcg checked because my urine test was negative.
