Docusate Sodium

Alright, I have tried everything that has been advised to me for constipation. I am 9 weeks, 2 days along. Even pre-pregnancy, I am a health freak and do eat fresh fruits and veggies everyday as well as fruit and nut bars. I have tried apple juice, prune juice, and normally coffee gets me to go but I am at the point now to where I am giving into OTC stuff. I found some stool softener in the cabinet, it's the Equate brand of Colace -- it has Docusate sodium (50mg) and Sennosides (8.6mg). Is this safe to take?

Talk to your dr first for sure! I'm taking the equate ducosate sodium right now cause I had a third degree tear from child birth that resulted in a lot if stitches! I'm breast feeding so its obviously safe to take after but I'm not sure about during pregnancy! Good luck :)

I was wondering about that too but gave up and just bought colace, better safe than sorry in my eyes. I would call your Dr just to make sure since you already have it lol it works like a charm though! I had to take it once and haven't had a problem since (knock on wood)
